Alleged Vending Machine Thief Spitting Mad

Edward Scott Jr., of Runnemede, didn't succeed in reportedly breaking into a vending machine, but police said he did land a loogie on officers.

Hungry? Why wait? Grab a Snickers—just make sure you’re not trying to pry open a vending machine to get to it.

Edward Scott Jr. didn’t take that lesson to heart, according to police, when officers reportedly found him trying to break into a vending machine at early Sunday morning.

Two officers found Scott, 28, of Runnemede, with a hammer, screwdriver and pliers near the machine. Scott didn’t cause any damage to the machine, but apparently also wasn’t thrilled about being in custody. That could be what lead him to spit at officers at police headquarters.
