Berlin-Cross Keys Road Closure Continues Today

The long-term Camden County Municipal Utilities Authority sewer improvement project resumes Wednesday morning.

The ongoing Camden County Municipal Utilities Authority (CCMUA) sewer improvement project on Berlin-Cross Keys Road will resume Wednesday morning.

Starting Wednesday at 7 a.m. and expected to last through Friday, Jan. 5, Berlin-Cross Keys Road will be closed between Turnerville Road and Watsontown-New Freedom Road, Pine Hill Police Department announced.

The work to continue Wednesday morning is concentrated between the Auto Lenders office building and Watstontown-New Freedom Road.

Stretches of Berlin-Cross Keys Road have been closed Monday through Friday most weeks since the summer. The work began between Turnerville Hickstown Road and Erial-New Brooklyn Road, in Pine Hill and Winslow and Gloucester townships, before moving north toward Berlin in December.

Access to Berlin-Cross Keys Road between Turnerville and Watsontown-New Freedom roads will be limited to residents and the businesses in the area the rest of this week.

The recommended detour routes, per Pine Hill Police, for the stretch of Berlin-Cross Keys Road between Turnerville Road and Watsontown-New Freedom roads are as follows:

  • Northbound: Turnersville Road to East Branch Avenue to Erial-Clementon Road to Berlin Road to New Freedom Road to Berlin-Cross Keys Road
  • Southbound: New Freedom Road to Berlin Road to Erial Road to East Branch Avenue to Turnerville Road to Berlin-Cross Keys Road

You're still worth the trouble to get to!

This is creating such a hassle, especially when you see four or 5 guys watching one guy dig a hole! I shouldn't have to leave my house for work at 6:30am to make it to work by 8:00am 15 miles away.

The detour had me go 45 minutes out of my way when I was 1 mile from my destination. I will never go to anything at Venice Plaza again. Maybe losing business in the area will help them get done. If I worked as slow as them, I would not have a job.

I need to go down Cross Keys Rd to get to work. The detours add so much time to the commute. Today they were stopping traffic for work on the detours. It is so frustrating how long this is dragging out. Plus it is very unorganized and no status information.
