Black Horse Pike Board Calls Special Meeting
It is expected the board will hire an interim principal for Triton High School.
Black Horse Pike Regional School District Board of Education has called a special meeting for Monday afternoon during which it is expected Triton Regional High School's interim principal will be hired.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. It will be held at the regional school district's Erial Road administrative office.
Principal Catherine DePaul was suspended with pay in early October, one day before she was charged with covering up information regarding inappropriate relationships between Triton teachers and now-former students during the 2011-12 school year.
Three teachers and a second administrator have also been charged in the sex scandal.
"The meeting Monday is related to the hiring of an interim principal at Triton High School. It’s open to the public," said Sarah Lindsay, account supervisor at Braithwaite Communications, which BHPRSD hired the day the charges against the educators were annnounced, in an email Friday afternoon.
At its regularly scheduled Oct. 18 meeting, the BHPRSD board voted to temporarily suspend a district policy that dictates the board not be involved in the interview process for certificated staff members except for the positions of assistant superintendent and business administrator/board secretary.
Three Triton teachers—Jeffrey Logandro, 32, Nicholas Martinelli, 28, and Daniel Michielli, 27—are accused of sexual relationships with now-former students. All three were suspended with pay as the Camden County Prosecutor's Office investigated allegations of teacher-student relationships at the Runnemede school. The teachers' suspensions were handed down separately late in the summer and early in the school year.
In addition to DePaul, former Triton vice principal Jernee Kollock, who became vice principal at Timber Creek on July 1, stands accused of attempting to squelch information regarding teacher-student relationships. She also was suspended with pay on Oct. 3.

You can't expect the young men to have high standards when the young women involved did not. please dont penalize the principle for trying to mind her own business. We all should do a little more of that! And lastly, if my teenage daughter got involved with a teacher over 10 yrs older then her, A) I would be thrilled that he had a good job B) wasn't selling or doing drugs and C) I would have a conversation with his mother then I would take the belt to both of them, considering their both children! Honestly how many 27 yr old guys do you know that actually behave like an adult!? And how many 16 yr old girls do you see wearing age appropriate clothing? Apparently not these fools...

lynn - " Don't penalize the Principle for minding her own business" ??? Are you kidding me!! Those teachers and students ARE HER BUSINESS!!! That is what she is getting paid $120,000.00 a year TO DO!! I am also interested to know what you think you would accomplish talking to the 27yr old teachers mother? The bottom line is this - if those girls flaunted themselves in front of those teachers ( which they did not ) it is the position of the Teachers who are in an authoritative position to say NO !! The principle SHOULD have done the right thing and report the teachers when she first heard about this. If she had followed school policy and not her own to " protect the teachers" as she stated, she would have spared the girls and thier families the reprocussions of all of this. And please... you are blaming the girls for the clothing they wear?? Have you been shopping in the last decade??? Or do you live in a bubble?? And news flash :HELLO??? if your teenage daughter got involved with a teacher, I can guarantee he would NOT have that good job for long .. I really hope you're not as stupid as you sound ... fool!

PRINCIPAL!! If you're going to rant and rave, at least show enough education to spell the title correctly. The "infantilization" of society tends to make those who should be adults continue to act like teenagers into their middle age years. The girls are flattered by the attention of the teachers; the guys retain their youth by mating with younger women. ALL ARE LOSERS!

You should have stopped at Principal. That was the only intelligent thing you said. Otherwise, you sound like a Neanderthal!!!

It was a sub who was trusted and not a full time teacher.

I say start calling, emailing and sending letters to the Commissioner of Education. If he gets the message, then the teachers and administrators will too when he formally cancels their certificates and revokes their suspension (vacation) pay. No pay for play.
