Santa Comes to Town as Fire Trucks Light Up Blackwood
"Please put me on the good list," one boy pleaded as Santa Claus made his entrance into Gloucester Township Saturday.
Gloucester Township greeted Santa Claus "through the eyes of a child" Saturday along the Black Horse Pike.
That was the theme for Blackwood Fire Company's annual Christmas parade, an hour-long procession of area fire trucks decked out for the season, interspersed with floats and performances community groups and schools.
The parade rolled down the pike as residents crammed the sidewalk, often looking up in awe at fire trucks covered in holiday lights.
But the man of the hour undoubtedly was Santa Claus, whose arrival prompted screams of delight, dances and some assurances from the crowd.
"Santa! Santa! I've been good," one boy yelled out to Kris Kringle. "Please put me on the good list!"
