Blackwood Man Held in Rash of Erial Burglaries
An alert citizen's tip leads to the arrest of 27-year-old Blackwod man Francis Dymond early Thursday.
A Blackwood man is charged with burglarizing several vehicles and a shed in Erial's Sturbridge Oaks development.
Gloucester Township Police Sgt. Dominic Coppola Jr. says it was an alert citizen's tip at roughly 3:19 a.m. Thursday that led police to form a perimeter around the reported Sturbridge Oaks crime scene.
Police found Francis Dymond, 27, of Blackwood, actively breaking into a car and placed him under arrest, Coppola said.
Further investigation found Dymond, a Fairmount Avenue resident, allegedly broke into several cars and a shed in the development.
Police impounded Dymond's vehicle after finding it parked in another section of the Erial neighborhood. Further burglary proceeds were found inside the car, Coppola said.
The Blackwood man was charged with multiple counts of burglary and theft.
Dymond is being held in Camden County Jail on $55,000 bail.
