Camden County College to Host Series on Ike

President Eisenhower's grandson will be among the visiting scholars to discuss the life of the 34th US president at Camden County College this spring.

Grandson David Eisenhower will be among the scholars who will offer insight into the presidency of Dwight D. Eisenhower when Camden County College’s Center for Civic Leadership and Responsibility presents a lecture series on the 34th president of the United States this spring.

Dwight David Eisenhower: An American Presidency will examine the challenges faced by the Eisenhower Administration, including the Civil Rights movement, suburbanization, Communism, arms control and the emergence of Third World nations. The lecturers will detail how actions taken during Eisenhower’s presidency influenced the nation and world during the mid-20th century and continue to affect both in the 21st century.

“This topic seemed timely as we enter an election year with recent administrations beset by incredible partisanship,” said Center director John Pesda. “A series on Eisenhower, a president whose success was facilitated by a spirit of bi-partisanship between the executive branch and Congress, will provide valuable historical insight.”
