Chargers Top Mustangs in Thanksgiving Rivalry Game

Timber Creek got three touchdowns from Dan Williams in a 34-7 win over Triton.

Quarterback Dan Williams had another big game, leading the Timber
Creek Regional High School
football team to a 34-7 win over Triton in the annual Thanksgiving Day contest.

Williams threw for a pair of touchdowns and ran for another as the Chargers improved to 8-2.

Williams got the scoring going with a 6-yard touchdown run in the first quarter and followed with a 14-yard touchdown pass to Kevin Casey later in the frame. Ziare Williams got involved in the second quarter, punching in a touchdown on a run from 3-yards out to give the Charges a 21-0 lead. Senior Bryce Shade showed his playmaking ability later in the second quarter when he broke free for a 60-yard touchdown to give Timber Creek a 28-0 advantage at the half.

Jagger Green added a 15-yard touchdown run in the third before Triton got on the board with a 59-yard touchdown run from Reuben Pagan.

The loss brings to an end a disappointing season for the Mustangs. Triton started the season 2-0, but won just once the rest of the way, finishing 3-7.

Meanwhile, the Chargers hope to have two more games in front of them, beginning next week when they host Shawnee, in the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 4 semifinals.

It is Triton, I don't expect much.

This game is not a rivalry. I would like to know why the Highland-Triton rivalry was abolished and why Highland sits idle on Thanksgiving? As a former Tartan captain (1989) it is sad that the BHP BOE let this happen.
