Court Hearing for Former Gloucester Twp. Councilwoman Postponed
Crystal Evans was scheduled to appear in Municipal Court in Winslow on Wednesday after being charged late last year with stalking and criminal mischief.
Former township Councilwoman Crystal Evans didn't get her day in court Wednesday.
Her hearing in Winslow Municipal Court was postponed.
No new date has been set. Court Administrator Janice Fitting was unsure of the reason for the postponement.
Evans, a Democrat, was arrested in November 2012 on charges alleging she harassed and frightened a township woman throughout 2012.
The case was reviewed at the Superior Court level, due to the initial indictable stalking charge police filed against Evans, but ultimately was remanded to the municipal court level without being presented to a grand jury.
Evans' case is being heard in Winslow due to the potential for a conflict of interest, given her past role as Gloucester Township councilwoman from 2008 through 2011.
Gloucester Township Police Ptl. Benjamin Lewitt signed single complaints against Evans for stalking and criminal mischief after police were called to investigate an incident on Nov. 7, 2012.
Evans, 48, turned herself in to police Nov. 8.
The stalking complaint signed by Lewitt alleged Evans "placed several hundred telephone calls to the victim with the purpose to harass and put fear into the victim" in 2012. It also states Evans was seen "on or near the victim's residence unannounced and uninvited."
The criminal mischief complaint claims Evans caused less than $500 in damage to the gutter downspouts to the victim's home.
The complaints identify the victim as Angela Deluca, who reportedly was living with Evans' brother-in-law at the time.
Due to the nature of the incident that led to Crystal Evans' arrest, police were unwilling to divulge a location of the alleged crime.

Patch, You described her as a Democrat whose charges alleged she harassed this woman Angela. Why the need to post her supposed affiliation to any political party? In actually she is registered a democrat but has publically disassociated herself with the Democrats and in actuality she supports the South Jersey Citizens political organization.

Angela Deluca Failed to Appear and so did the Gloucester Township Cop. The only one who was present was Councilwoman Evans.
Deluca and the Cop who claimed this stuff happened, Never Showed Up that's why it was postponed. Pretty sick

What do you mean about the pay to play petition? What happened to the witness in that trial? Wasn't she just a witness in that trial because of what that guy Tom Crone did mishandling his petitions or was it the other way around? Are you saying she was a witness in that trial?

Darren, If you read my post, I asked the same question you did. I'm not quite as much as a busy body as you are because you have been posting your venom far longer than I have been posting my opinions on this site. You don't like what I have to say, you don't like my rebuttal, you don't like the fact I call you out when you and your radical buddies post lies about he Mayor and other democrats in G.T., well isn't that just too bad. I happen to respect the Mayor and leadership of G.T., I like the positive direction they are moving in, I like the fact that they have revived a dying township, so if you don't like it you have three choices, change it, leave it or just sit back and reap the benefits of a Great Place to Live and let the leadership do their job. That DELUCA was a NO SHOW and neither was that So Called Cop that signed off on the complaint. No Show

Funny, because if you in fact would have been there with your eyes open, you would have easily been able to identify the police officer from Gloucester Twp. That was there speaking with the prosecutor in full uniform. Again, get your facts straight. I am sure Mr. Evans appreciates the support, however, I can't imagine she wants or needs uneducated support.

Reggie, your information is extremely flawed. I can already tell by your responses above that you are only going to believe what you want. Even if it is 100% wrong.
However, since we are name calling. Please explain how a police officer who risks his or her life everyday is a "coward" like you stated above. I wasn't aware that signing a complaint against a person who violates the law makes a police officer a coward. I though that was a police officers job. Well, either way, I would love to hear your response. I'm sure you will enlighten me and all the other readers on the patch.
