Erial Elementary Food Drive Feeds 17 Families

The school gets a big assist from Acme.

Erial Elementary School guidance counselor Janet McCarthy submitted the following to Patch on Thursday:

This year, Erial Elementary School was able to help 17 families in need for the Thanksgiving holiday. Our staff, parents and students donated their time, money, food and turkeys to help make this event a huge success.

On distribution day, we were in need of four more turkeys but did not have enough funds. Thanks to the generosity of the Acme on Cross Keys Road in Sicklerville we were able to fulfill this void. They graciously donated four complete turkey dinners (including a turkey, stuffing and potatoes). They refused to accept any monetary contribution. We are very fortunate and proud to have Acme supporting our community.

That is so nice to hear. Congrats to Erial staff, students, and families. Way to go Acme for stepping up!
