I am thrilled that we are getting this field. I have a adult with disabilities in my family and it would have been such a blessing to have something like this for him to play the sport he absolutely loved and he could only sit and watch his cousins play. It was very painful for him and his family.
This field of dreams cost allot of money to build Darren Gladden and as you know through your constant complaining, people don't readily donate as much as they would when times were easier so it took longer than YOU would like. Well it's a mute point now, it's coming to fruition in April.
There are allot of good folks who worked really hard in the background to help get this done and you work hard on making remarks on thissite and call people names like a child having a meltdown. What the heck is wrong with you? Yes, there are potholes in GT and surrounding areas, Always. That being said, if a resident takes the initiative to call and report them then that's being pro active in your Community, and that's a good thing.
Also, if you call, report and give adequate time for them to be repaired and their not, well, then you have documentation. Call the Mayor's office and report the issue, I'm sure it would be addressed right away. The problem is there are County roads of course running thru GT. The numbers are on the websites. If folks can get on computer and complain then they can take a minute and report via the websites. certainly have noticed the roads being closed for repair for the past couple of months, so I would guess to say, they are working on them. As a long time resident of GT I have a problem, not with people going to Council and complaining about a problem they may have, or asking for help with a issue in their neighborhood, that's what they are there for to listen to residents issues. My major problem is they way it is done. There is absolutely no need to stand up there and scream and hurl insults for their Political agenda. It's not what you say it's how you say it, and we are better than that in G.T. I've stated before that there used to be allot of residents going to Council, but a certain group has chased them away. How right is that? Residents from both sides of the aisle are disgusted with this behavior, it's counter productive and nothing but drama.

Darren Gladden, If council overlooked the permits process, and the bid process, and just awarded contracts and started building it and paid everyone for time, labor, and materials without the need to make sure they were getting the best prices, and contractors, for the money they were spending, and they actually broke ground today, how long would it take to complete the project?

You claim it’s that easy and can be done that fast so you must have some answers already right? Well give us the answers so we can pressure council and the mayor to disregard all the town ordinances and state laws and just get it done because Darren demands it done right now. But in order for us to advance your agenda you need to give us answers to the questions:
How long will it take to build using your contractors?
How much will it cost paying labor to your contractors?
How much will the materials cost buying products from your vendors?
How much will the fields cost to insure using your carriers?
How long will it take your contractors to build the roadway infrastructure to get to and from fields safely?
Who will do the roadway infrastructure?
How much will the roadways cost using your contractors and materials vendors?
I could go on and on with the questions but I would guarantee you can't answer these questions so why waste time.

Darren I would love to answer your question but you are refusing to answer mine. You have been very flamboyant on here saying you were part of the committee to do this project and that it should have already been completed. You claim you are still on that committee. Now if you were part of the committee and your still on the committee how do you not know the answers? You claim you would have already had it done all I’m asking is how? I even said to you, let’s live in your dream world and pretend you had 100% control and no bid or permit laws existed and you can hire all your friends and allies or companies you wanted to without consenting with anyone, how would you do it? Your answer was that you couldn’t get it done EVER! You said you’re not the mayor and you don’t have his connections so you could not do it. That Darren is exactly why you are a fraud.

The complete deck was just handed to you to skirt every law on the books and you said you could not get it done, not only could you not get it done but you could not even let us know how long you think it would take to get it done. Darren you’re crucifying the current mayor for not having a project completed that you were on the planning committee for. If you could not make a recommendation on what to do and how to do it and he is getting it done despite your failure to cooperate then you’re the failure. As far as Lectner salary I don't know his salary. I never asked him but he is a town planner and has a master’s degree so I would guess he is at about $80,000 a year. Where you’re confused is what a town planner does. You seem to believe a planner bids construction jobs and prices out labor and manages the projects and tells you how to do the job and finds businesses to buy property here. Well you are 100% wrong. A Planner takes the recommendations and directives from businesses or in this case from the committee you were on, and makes sure what you are trying to put on a particular parcel does not violate the town’s master plan for that parcel. If it violates he shoots down the plan and tells you how to apply to the planning board to attain a variance or land designation change so that the project can comply or change the town’s master plan to accommodate the project you are trying to place on the parcel.

So your assertion that he should plan the project is not true, that was the job of the committee you were on, he was there to tell you if your plan was in compliance or not. It was not to tell you how to do the project. It is pathetic that you have been crucifying this guy for over a year now and you don't even know what his job is. It is obvious you need a dictionary so you can learn what the job titles mean for the people you crucify.

As a member of the committee you were divisive and disruptive and now your sour because even though you tried to use disabled children as a platform to slam the mayor you have been unable to answer a simple question about how you would have had this completed already. Why, 1 year later, are you still unable to answer a simple question; if we used all your and ideas and started today, How long would it take to complete using your contractors and at what cost?
