Four Juveniles Charged with Robbing Pizza Deliveryman

The armed robbery occurred on Brookshire Road around 9:30 Wednesday night.

Four juveniles charged with robbing a pizza deliveryman in the township's Brittany Woods development Wednesday night were eating the food they allegedly stole from the victim when police found them.

Gloucester Township Police began investigating the armed robbery when the victim, who is a deliveryman for Nick's Pizza, flagged down officers at Jarvis and Sicklerville roads at about 9:30 p.m., according to Lt. Jason Gittens.

The victim reported that he was making a delivery on Brookshire Road when he was flagged down by juvenile males who claimed they had ordered the food. When the boys told the victim they did not have money to pay him, he continued on his way to make another delivery in the area.

As he was heading out of Brittany Woods, the juveniles again waved him down—this time indicating they had the money to pay for the order.

One of the juveniles began patting down his own pockets, apparently pretending to try to locate cash, but then allegedly pulled out a black-handled object the deliveryman felt was a knife.

The victim reported the juvenile who pulled the suspected knife stared at him in "an intimidating manner," Gittens said, prompting him to turn over roughly $60 in food before fleeing the area.

Police converged on the area and were able to locate suspects fitting descriptions provided by the victim, consuming the food they allegedly stole.

The four boys were charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery. They were lodged in Camden County Juvenile Detention Center.
