Gloucester Township Man Killed in Camden
Rahkeem Byrd died at Cooper University Hospital Saturday. His death adds to Camden's climbing murder rate.
Rahkeem Byrd, a 36-year-old Gloucester Township man, was shot and killed Saturday in Camden.
Byrd was found shortly before 10 p.m. in a home on the 1100 block of Thurman Street, according to Camden police and the Camden County Prosecutor's Office. He was transported to the city's Cooper University Hospital and died there a half-hour later.
Authorities believe Byrd was shot outside near Louis and Thurman streets and fled into the home, collapsing there.
An astounding number of killings have hit Camden this year. With two weeks left in the year, 66 people have been slain on the streets of the beleaguered city, giving Camden one of the nation's highest per capita murder rates.

Camden has been a hotbed for crime prone people. What's the problem? Maybe it is time that the snobs from the suburbs consider the consequenses of just letting the blight spread; Gloucester Township has a top notch police force to cope with the escalation taking place there, we need to get help for Camden County (the city included). We are all in this together.
