Gloucester Township Man Slain in Atlantic City

Abdal McBride, of Sicklerville, was fatally shot Sunday night.

 

The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office is looking for a suspect in the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old Gloucester Township man, acting Atlantic County Prosecutor James P. McClain said Monday afternoon, Dec. 3.

Abdal McBride, 18, of Sicklerville, was found fatally shot on the 500 block of Hobart Avenue around 9:30 Sunday night, Dec. 2, McClain said.

Atlantic City Police made the discovery after being called to the scene for reports of shots being fired in the area. McBride had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, according to McClain.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit also responded to the scene. Both departments are investigating the slaying, and no arrests have been made at this time, according to McClain.

Anyone with information concerning McBride's shooting is asked to call the Major Crimes Unit at 609-909-7666 or the Atlantic City Police Department at 609-347-5356.

UPDATE, 6:11 p.m. 12/3: McBride attended the Black Horse Pike Regional School District's Twilight night school program, held at Highland, during the 2010-11 school year. He was a resident of Hampshire Road, Sicklerville.
