Gloucester Twp. Mayor Releases Statement on Police Station Shooting
Mayor David Mayer speaks on Friday morning's shooting incident that left three Gloucester Township police officers injured and the alleged shooter dead.
Mayor David Mayer issued an audio statement via YouTube at around 11:40 a.m. regarding gunfire inside Gloucester Township police station Friday morning.
The shooting incident left three police officers injured. The alleged shooter, who has not yet been identified, was killed by police, Camden County Prosecutor's Office Capt. Mark Nicholas confirmed.
"All police operations are functioning as normal and calls for service are not being affected," Mayer said in the statement. "Certainly our thoughts and prayers are with the officers and their families at this time."
Mayer asked that citizens only call the police department for normal calls for service or emergencies in the wake of the shooting incident.
