Gloucester Twp. Resident Indicted in Phila. Traffic Court Scandal

Businessman Henry P. "Eddie" Alfano is accused of taking part in a far-reaching ticket-fixing scandal in Philadelphia Traffic Court.

Local resident Henry P. "Eddie" Alfano was a key player in a widespread practice of ticket-fixing in Philadelphia Traffic Court, according to a federal indictment unsealed Thursday.

Nine current or former traffic-court judges also face corruption charges in the investigation.

Alfano, a Kelly Driver Road resident, was indicted on one count of conspiracy, six counts of wire fraud and six counts of mail fraud, Philly.com reports

Alfano owns Century Motors Inc., a vintage-car and auto-parts dealership in Philadelphia. He also owned a towing service that won a no-bid contract from traffic court, according to Philly.com.

Alfano and his businesses were among the targets of an FBI raid in February 2011 that now appears to be related to the Traffic Court investigation.

A warrant authorizing the raid also sought records of business deals involving Kevin Piccolo, a real estate agent in Gloucester Township and chairman of the township's Democratic Party, according to Philly.com.

Piccolo has not been charged in the Traffic Court scandal.

Joe, I think you misread the sentence. Kevin Piccolo is the chairman of the township's Democratic party.

I just read the article that is linked above. Gloucester Township was raided by the FBI? There has been nothing but very negative news about our Township recently.

Ever think there is a reason to this? Even the C-P got tired of running stories that are press releases from the Mayor's office. It appears the media and now the authorities are looking into people connected to GT. I doubt this will be the last negative story on our town.

One of the GTPS board members is treasurer of the GT Democrat Party which is chaired by Kevin Piccolo. Doesn't it make you feel good knowing our town and our schools are run by such moral and honest people?

It reminds me of the movie "The Devil's Advocate". Vindictive, demonic plotting planning and always strategizing how they can steal money and wrongfully hurt people by manipulating and paying others to partake in their wrongdoings. Wolves in sheep's clothing. They smile in your face.

Source: U.S. Attorney's Office - FBI - PRESS RELEASE...
"The defendants participated in a widespread culture of giving breaks on traffic citations to friends, family, the politically connected, and business associates."

Wait, does this really happen? I wonder if anyone in GT ever got a call asking for the identification or relationship of somebody who was involved in a Red-Light Camera violation?

Of course, it happens all the time, but we're not going to talk about it. I know people who've gotten the calls. What, do you think I would be stupid enough to name them? The regular township shills who come on Patch and attack anybody who raises one criticism about "township political shenanigans" won't even use their names and you want me to name my source for this accusation?

Are you saying when someone runs a red light and the camera gets their plate, if it comes up as someone connected to the Norcrat Family the ticket is magically never entered?

This is a serious allegation you are raising. I am not surprised to hear it though. The GT prosecutor is the third largest donor to the GT Dems, and surprise he continues to take care of the same people that emply his law partner to be the solicitor to both school boards and another law partner to handle the MUA?

The next time you pay your $85, remember the family members of La Costa Norcrossta don't. They get full time patronage jobs created for them at the local schools when there isn't money to pay the teachers.

Look, the red-light camera ticket goes through at least a two-step check...it's not automatic, it requires human intervention. The video of the violation has to be reviewed to weed out hardware malfunctions and plain, bad calls. So, the video is reviewed by a technician and by a police officer.
A simple search on Google for "Henry P. Alfano" will reveal the Press Release I mentioned above; it can be seen here:

http://privateofficernews.wordpress.com/tag/henry-p-alfano-local-businessman/

Among the 'law enforcement officials ' named in the indictment are:
2 sitting traffic court judges
1 senior traffic court judge
3 former traffic court judges
1 senior district judge
1 magisterial district judge
1 senior magisterial district judge
1 former traffic court director of records

No, no, no, I would never expect any hanky-panky when hundreds of thousands of dollars are passing hands. Besides, I don't believe the person who told me he/she received a call asking whether someone who had gotten a ticket was related to him/her. No, I don't believe a word of it (wink-wink).

BTW, when my red-light camera ticket was dismissed (after 6 hours in court) due to insufficient evidence, the prosecutor looked as sour as if the $85 dollars came right out of his own pocket. On top of that he was extremely rude when he talked to me. Tell me again about 'public servants'.

BTW, Mel, if I made it seem that way, allow me to clarify by stating that the culture of corruption is by no means particular to the Norcrat family.

They think they're Untouchable and protected just like the typical arrogance in people who thought the Titantic would never sink.

"Each of them and their future generations will Reap What They've Sown". No Mercy, No Grace. Ruth is right, Gods Wrath on Evildoers is Dangerous and there is nothing they can do. Too late, the more you do the worse the wrath.

Maybe, just maybe, this criminal (Alfono)will get his due. I don't know about Piccolo but I only met one politician whom I believed to be ethical. Needles to say, she didn't go far.

Hey Joey: you mean the way the Meyer Council's internet attack dogs assassinate people when they are accused of crimes? Sorry your argument rings hollow given recent comments by Eddies friends. Why haven't you defended others who have had entanglements with the law?

Some interesting information just came across my desk:

Eddie Alfano owns Empire Investments. They own much of the rental properties in the town, including the new homes that went up right next to the Democrat Club.

The reason Eddie Alfano was targeted by the FBI was because of land deals including a deal to bring another adult entertainment establishment into town. I could not get it confirmed if it was just a book and toy store or another of his strip clubs.

Doesn't it warm your heart to know the David Meyer Council School Board Team keeps such positive role models as their friends? I wonder what else Eddie, Kevin, and the rest of Dave Meyer's crew do that we don't know about. Yet.

Joey, you seem confident Alfano, Piccolo and there buddies are going to get off. Business as usual in Nj. Looks like one court of justice failed the Boss Norcross All the money in world can't buy his health. He's on temporary time and that judge can't be bargained. He's had enough. One by one, starting from the top. He knows how to shut down cooks

Funny you bring up Norcross, heard the guy has pancreatic cancer 3rd stage. Don't expect these guys to have any remorse just cold hearts. Satans got a special place for him and his connectors in Hell. That's their resort spot for these Jersey Devils

If Norcross is a crook, then I hope our system of law and order can stop him.

But let's not insinuate, like some fairy tale, that some higher power exacted justice and gave him some disease. That's just silly and simple-minded. Not to mention, if that's what you are foolish enough to believe, damning to loved ones who have been stricken.

It's not silly. Jesus is real for those who believe. Vengeance is his sayath The Lord. Your health is a gift from The Lord. It's golden and can't be compromised by those who have wronged many good souls. God can do what he damn well pleases

Norcross thought he was Pharoh, you see what happened to him and his followers and their offsprings. Only God knows the heart of Norcross, but I think he's sending a message to his followers who are going down that same road. Your health or the health of a loved one can be taken in the blink of an eye to those who do wrong and spew hatred
