Want to grow your own vegetables, fruit or flowers this year, but don't have adequate space on your property?

Or are you maybe worried about your discerning neighbors finding out you don't exactly have a green thumb?

Either way, Gloucester Township has the answer for you.

Sign up for one of the plots available to rent at the Gloucester Township Community Garden, located in the shadows of Gabreil Daveis Tavern.

Mayor David Mayer urged residents to participate in Community Garden this spring and summer at Township Council's Monday meeting. Opening Day for the Community Garden will be April 21—one day after the Earth Day spring clean-up there.

The Community Garden holds 23 individual plots, as well as a common area for herbs and raspberries. It costs $25 to rent a 15-by-10 plot and $20 for a 10-by-10 plot.

Gardeners have access to compost, woodchips and water.

A sign-up event will be held Tuesday, March 19, beginning at 7 p.m. at Gloucester Township Municipal Court, in the municipal building.
