Police, Firefighters Seek Suspect Along Big Timber Creek
The search was on for a burglary suspect along Big Timber Creek, including in the waterway.
Police and rescue crews were searching for a burglary suspect along Big Timber Creek, off Clements Bridge Road (Route 41) in the area where Gloucester Township's Glendora section meets Deptford and Runnemede, Wednesday afternoon.
At least two rescue boats were dispatched into the waterway to aid in the search.
The male suspect was being sought in connection with a residential burglary that occurred in Glendora, Gloucester Township Police Capt. Jeffrey Weiserth said at the scene.
Police received reports someone fitting the suspect's description was observed in the area and was accompanied by a white female, Capt. Anthony Minosse said Wednesday evening.
The search began around 1:30 p.m. after police responded to a West Front Street home where a burglary alarm had been activated. Investigation revealed entry to the home was not gained by the suspect, or suspects, Minosse said.
A light-skinned black male with curly, dark hair was seen running from the rear of the West Front Street home across the Timber Creek Liquors property, prompting the search in that area, Minosse said. He was wearing a blue, striped shirt with dark jeans.
Police did not locate a male suspect or a female suspect in the extensive search operation.
Roughly a dozen Gloucester Township Police Department vehicles, including a mobile command center, were in and out of Timber Creek Liquors' parking lot over the course of the afternoon. A section of the parking lot was blocked off by crime scene tape.
Gloucester Township Police officers were joined at the scene by Camden County Sheriff's Department K-9 units and personnel from Runnemede Fire Department, Glendora Fire Co., Gloucester Township EMS Alliance, and Gloucester Township Office of Emergency Management.
Deptford and Runnemede police officers also aided in the search, which went into Deptford.
Contact Gloucester Township Police Department at 856-228-4500 if you have any information about the West Front Street burglary attempt or the suspects sought in connection with the crime.

Try to report white collar crimes by millionaire/billionaire companies or political favorites and absolutely nothing happens. Of course they waste a lot of your time to further punish the victims.

Anyone wonder if the suspect might have walked along the road into the mall area?

@Charles....I think he may have used a submarine to escape? I'm wondering if they have checked the tide charts? Is it possible that he could have been Al Qaeda? Most likely he was throwing down a Big Mac or having a taco while GTPD, and The Deptford Police played war games...he was breaking into a house in Glendora, not the Pentagon? Gimme a break...they must be bored since there hasn't been any shootings over at he police station this week...lol...thanks for the laugh guys..

To: Big Daddy, RE: Try to report white collar crimes by millionaire/billionaire companies or political favorites and absolutely nothing happens.
Corporations are not people, just ask the guy in Marine County, Calif. who drove his car in a HOV lane. Since he had a Corporation Paper, he thought he could get away it. The Judge shredded is defense.

There are still people within the corporations committing crimes that should be punishable. The problem is corruption thoughout our system. Prosecutors, lawyers and judges are all in for the fix.

This reminds me of when a constituent went to Rob Andrews house to complain. He had the police, the AG, the US Attorney, the FBI and others out there. When I asked him to get some of those guys to do some law enforcement, he refused to do anything. No wonder that poor guy felt compelled to go to his house.

Poor Mr. Gladden,
He should have called first before showing up at a U.S. Congressman's house for dinner ranting and raving like he does at Council and maybe just the Secret Service would have been there. DUHHHH..

You are all a bunch of judgemental hypocrites, who obviously have nothing better to do than to mock the people who you will undoubtably EXPECT to be there to save your sorry behinds, should someone break into your house, threaten your life, or deface your property. By the way, God Bless those officers who were shot! How dare you joke about that? You're a disgrace!

If the perp' had tried to break into my house, I would hope he was successful. My two "guard dogs", Smitty and Wes, would have greeted him promptly. They would not greet the EMTs who would have responded a bit later. but I would have.
