Police: Request for Directions Cover to Steal Smokes
Gloucester Township Police release video of a man and woman who stole cigarettes from the Blenheim Wawa.
A woman who asked a clerk at the Blenheim Wawa for directions to the Atlantic City Expressway in late August was merely creating a diversion so the man she was traveling with could steal cigarettes, according to police.
Gloucester Township Police on Thursday released surveillance video and still images of the crime, which occurred at around 2 a.m. on Aug. 23, in the hopes someone will be able to identify the suspects.
Police described the female suspect as a white with long, red hair. She was wearing a yellow shirt, black pants and sandals.
The male suspect is described as black and was wearing a gray Nike T-shirt, black pants, dark and orange sneakers, and a dark Nike hat.
The suspects left the store together in a U-Haul truck.
If you have any information that may aid the investigation or can identify the suspects in these images, police ask that you contact the township's anonymous crime tip line at 856-842-5560 or police dispatch at 856-228-4500, or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
