For roughly the past two years, the police department has used a program to alert community members by both text message and email of car accidents, roadway construction projects, special events, missing persons and other issues.
It's going to continue doing so, only with a new service provider.
Police announced late last week that they were immediately leaving Nixle and transitioning to Global Connect by the end of this week.
If you would like to be added to the Global Connect system, click here.
Clarification: When initially published at 2:15 p.m. June 8, Police Switch Notification Service Providers indicated Nixle users would automatically be transitioned to Global Connect. Nixle users must register with Global Connect.

Ok, use to get a notice or two a day. Since being notified of the switch, haven't heard a peep...

I too was signed up for Nixle, and haven't heard anything since the switch occurred. Perhaps it will take some time to get everyone switched over to Global Connect?
