Sen. Menendez to Visit Camden County College Monday

The visit to push 21st century job training will mark the senator's second visit to Gloucester Township since October.

U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez is scheduled to visit Camden County College Monday afternoon to announce a set of proposals to meet the call for a national commitment to prepare workers for 21st century jobs.

The senator "aims to create a system linking employers who need skilled workers and individuals who need jobs through a new competitive tax credit program to encourage workforce partnerships between businesses and colleges, and a tax credit up to $3,000 for any American business that is willing to train a long-term unemployed worker for an open job," according to a press release issued by Menendez's office Friday afternoon.

Menendez will discuss his plan to address the “skills gap” and provide workers, particularly the unemployed, an opportunity to learn skills they need to acquire in-demand jobs.
