Looking to get an early jump on keeping off those extra pounds the holiday season inevitably seems to bring us all?
A Sicklerville gym could help you do just that, while giving you a way to give back to those in need.
Slim Chicks Fitness will host its fourth annual Turkey Trot 5K Thanksgiving Day (Thursday) at Gloucester Township Community Park.
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. The registration fee is $25 per person, and additional donations are being sought.
All proceeds from the 5K run/walk will benefit The Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless, according to Slim Chicks owner Stevie Matteo.
Pre-registration is not required. For more information about the Turkey Trot, call 856-228-9200 or visit the Slim Chicks website, where you can find registration forms and more.
The top male and female finishers will receive gift certificates for an hour-long massage and more gifts. Also, someone will win a turkey dinner, participants can earn T-shirts, and runners and walkers who grab a kettlebell during their second lap will be entered for the chance to win a kettlebell.
Based in Elizabeth, The Elizabeth Coalition was founded in 1981 as an advocate for New Jersey's homeless.
