Stepped Up DWI Enforcement Planned Through St. Paddy's Day
Gloucester Township police say they will be out in force on designated roads.
The temptation to drink and drive is likely to hit a crescendo this weekend with St. Patrick's Day falling on Sunday.
Township police want to send a strong message that it's not a good idea.
Police say they will be conducting DWI saturation patrols over the weekend beginning Friday. They will target road known for high DWI arrests and accidents.
The New Jersey State Police reported 627 fatal road accidents in 2011 that were alcohol related.
