If the plaintiff is awarded damages most school systems have excess liability insurance, I would hope G.T. school system would also have it.
On your other note about the bad roads, well, I agree, I also hit potholes, but I also have to be patient, this is a very large township with county roads running all through it. There is a big county project going on with laying pipeline. If you would attend council meetings or even watch council online you would have knowledge of the root of the problem. Council has a agreement that county will repair the roads they are tearing up. I have learned about this by watching and listening to the council meetings.
In all honesty, and fairness, twp has posted through Patch the contact #'s to call in potholes. That's just not good enough for Darren and his Radical buddy's. They say they complain at every council meeting about the roads, they have been saying they same thing 2 years before any county project has started. When asked Darren couldn't even name a road that had a pothole. He couldn't even cooperate one iota by naming a pothole, one pothole or bump for over two years, but sure can complain the same complaint, honestly sometimes I feel like I'm in the movie Groundhog Day,

What's interesting to me, Pete, is that the vehicle starts at around $21,000 and tops out at $35,000 - so, we're going for the top of the line for our township officials to ride around in comfort at our expense. The lease price starts at around $150/month and I'm sure that's for the $21,000 version. My guess is that the $2764 is the price to drive each vehicle out the door and then the lease is probably on the order of around $250/month. BTW, that is a very conservative guess because I wouldn't be surprised if it's significantly more. Anyway, that's the best I can gather from looking at the Cherry Hill Triplex web page.
Now if Greenie want's to give us a little more of her higher order math and explain to the good people of GT how we're getting a $35,000 automobile for two years for a grand total of $2764, I am all ears.

Today they are doing their best to avoid the fact that one of their own seems to be in some trouble for taking his harassment a little to far at a school board meeting. I hear he was so verbally combative bringing Politics into the meeting and distracting the business of the k-8 system that his target , a specific member of the board had filed charges against him for harassment.
This is not the first time this guy "Radical John" has done this. He goes from Twp. to little town filing OPRA requests , hundreds and hundreds through S. Jersey and then goes to their Council meetings and does the same thing, goes to the mic and harasses council for his own political gain. So you see , every town has it's pesky little folks who nothing at all in life makes them happy but to call people names on a blog site. The problem is that S. Jersey towns all have one of them in common. Yep, Radical John the OPRA filer. How can anyone purposely put a Town Clerk under such pressure filing these reports, just because he can? Then if they can't get the reports done in time, HE SUES THE TOWN What a stand up guy. Well, seems he crossed over the line this time and is on the receiving end.

And to" Me", I never loose focus on what's going on in Township, I am extremely active and supportive of our Mayor and leadership. As you can see by previous blogs Darren and Paul are very unhappy and are putting out false accusations but can't seem to find any good in the place they are living.
It seems that they are now members or associated with a small radical political group that wants to attack people who are associated with the leadership of our town, one major offender is someone who doesn't even live here but seems to have a control over their negative thinking. It's really a shame.
I know the leadership folks, and I also know that they are polite and respectful to all residents, I have a real hard time believing that the Mayor ever called Darren a liar, yet he has posted that at least 500 times. Enough already. Lets get down to the facts of why , really they don't like G.T.
There are many towns out there that are raising taxes, many towns that are not thinking out of the box and working in a shared services agreement. They complain about the police dept. yet we have the best P.D. in the state in my mind. Our P.D. is zero tolerance for crime to keep us and our children safe. They have invested interested, they live here also.

Blackwood Resident I have a question. If you looked it up like you claim you did why didn't you post the real figures you claim you have? "(example,$187)" said blackwood resident.
Now you would not be trying to deceive us wold you? Very simple math if Paul DiBartolo's figure is correct and the cars were $35,000 each. and they are not his figure is about $15,000 per car more then the full retail actually was.
Also we did not buy the cars we leased them so even that figure is way higher then the reality of what they actually pay. But since you guys love to pretend lets use your numbers and show you how ridiculous your post actually is.

There are 24000 home in Gloucester Twp and 1800 businesses, that pay taxes.
If the 5 cars cost $35,000 each, $175,000 total if we had purchased them at 100% of Paul's factious figure. If they are paid for over 5 years as you claimed that would bring us back to $35,000 per year of tax dollars divided over the 25800 (24000 +1800= 25800 for the uneducated called: Blackwood resident) tax paying homeowners and businesses for arguments sake lets say everyone even the low income properties all paid the same tax dollars toward the cars, gonna go with standard math because I seriously don't think your smart enough to understand new math. $35,000.00 divided by 25,800 = $1.36 per tax paying entity or 34 cents per quarter. That number is real far from the one you pretended to look up. No wonder you used a fictitious number (example of $187).

Okay, genius, I looked it up on the Cherry Hill Triplex site before I made my comments. The vehicles are listed at $21,000 to $36,000 depending on the packages purchased. Additionally, Cardis stated (as reported in the article) that the vehicles being considered were priced at $35,000 each. Are you calling him a liar? Additionally, I never stated we were buying the vehicles but anybody who knows anything knows that the more expensive the vehicle the more expensive the lease. The article states that the upfront price per vehicle was $2764. I take that to mean that's what we would pay upfront in addition to the monthly lease price. I asked a simple question, what's the monthly lease cost? If someone is suggesting that upfront cost covers a complete two year lease, thus implying that we will lease a $35,000 vehicle for 24 months at $115 per month...that's ludicrous. As soon as those vehicles leave the lot they will devalue to the tune of about $5,000.
Go ahead and tell us what you're really trying to say.

I said numerous times your figure of $35,000 was ridiculously high and you just confirmed that by saying you looked it up and Cherry Hill paid $21,000-$35,000 to buy their vehicles we are only leasing ours, confirming my assumption that your original figures were extremely high. I understand why you choose to praise Cherry Hill for the same thing you have chosen to rip GT for after all Republican mayors can't do anything wrong according to you. Even if they are doing (according to your posts) worse things you condone here. They purchased their vehicles so in 7 years when the batteries need to be replaced they will spend about $7,000 per car in maintenance, while we use ours for less than 20% of the amount Cherry Hill spent and get to turn them back in and let someone else pay for the batteries.

Now I understand how Paul could feel that way after all I was agreeing with him about the figures he posted about how much the electric cars would cost GT taxpayers. According to him I should have known better then to agree with him. Council tonight showed us all his figures actually turned out to be about twice as much as the actual costs.

I suppose he is right after all I did lower my standards and used Paul's figures about the cost of the cars and as we all saw at council tonight his figures were about double what we actually paid for the cars. Shame on me trusting Paul would use correct figures.

I also did not say I had sympathy for anyone. I was confused about you saying he was harassing someone in the meeting. You stated it as a fact. It is not yet a fact.

Jennifer it is a fact, someone did feel harassed, and enough to feel the need to press charges. If he will be found guilty of that harassment in the eyes of the court remains to be seen, I agree, but it is alarming that this guy comes here from Gloucester City to scream and yell at our school board members and our council members and he has even chosen to do this in our zoning and panning boards in the past. He has OPRA requested hundreds of documents from our clerk and police departments costing the tax payers tens of thousands of dollars and when asked why his response was because he is entitled to it. Why what makes him "entitled" to anything in our town? Why is he "entitled" to cost us tax dollars wasting our clerks time so he can just see if then town keeps records that satisfy his whims?

His motivation is purely political and these meetings are not political especially the school board which does not run for office as democrats or republicans it is a nonpartisan board. Do you even know what he was yelling and screaming at her about? It was harassment, hands down. I was at the meeting and many of the people there felt very uncomfortable I could only imagine what the members felt like.

Seriously, Jennifer, I've been given a bad rap:-) I usually don't pass out the insults until they start from the other side and then the game's on. Additionally, I don't make the insults personal and attack the way people look; I normally address their unwillingness to reason and make a logical argument. For one thing, all my detractors have seen me and know who I am because I have a picture and a profile posted but they all hide behind false names and take potshots at me.

Anyway, I guess I assumed too much, so for your information there are a number of posters who, although they use different pseudonyms, they are actually one in the same. At the meeting, it was announced that, indeed, the total cost per car for the two-year lease is $2764.
That is a great deal which will pay for itself.

Thank you for the reply. The picture is starting to come into focus. The low end price I quoted (~ $21,000) is actually the purchase price of the low end model after the government kicks in the $7500 incentive to buy such a piece of junk. In the case of a lease, the dealer keeps the incentive which is what effects the lease price. So, the $35,000 quoted by Mr. Cardis gives the dealer $7500, bringing its investment down to $27,500 (if the $35,000 vehicle is indeed the model we are truly getting).
The only vehicles available at this time appear to be 2012s. I'm not sure why that is other than the possibility that, since they're not flying out the door, Mitsubishi scaled back production.
The bottom line is that Mitsubishi tried to offer the vehicle for lease at $249/month with a three year lease last year (not sure which model) but must the program must have failed miserably. The deal has now changed (to move the vehicles) and there are dealers offering this vehicle for a two year lease at $69/month with $2100 down or $169/month with nothing down.
Good luck on this one, Mr. Cardis. I, personally, would not want to be the proud owner of one of these experimental vehicles, and based on sales, neither do many other people.

Correction: it looks like the $2100 is the result of tax, etc. So, you either pay it up front or they roll it into the lease which explains the difference between the $69 and $169. Very impractical for the daily driver but maybe it will work out for the township...we'll see.

Actually, my opinion, regardless of what you thought I said, is that, on the surface, it appears that it might be a good deal given the way the township plans to use the vehicles. On the other hand, it would never work for the daily driver like me without the ability to stay close to a charging station. I'd hate to run out of power on 295. Apparently, I am not alone in that opinion and the sales numbers tell that story. Finally, in the end, since there is no track record for this effort, time will tell. In addition, the vehicles themselves were not given that high of a rating by the organizations that deal in such matters. Therefore, Caveat Emptor.
Where's my speculation? Carids stated we were paying about $112 a month. I've been to the dealer websites and seen the deals they were offering for $69 and $169 a month. Mitsubishi originally tried to lease these vehicles out at $249 a month for three years and failed. Again, what part of that is speculation?
