Township Team Wins State Soccer Title
The Timber Birch Athletic Association Fireballs girls' soccer team wins a state title.
The Timber Birch Athletic Association (TBAA) Fireballs girls' soccer team recently won the 14 and under state championship.
The Fireballs, coached by Craig Summers, won six games over a five-week stretch in New Jersey State Cup play, outscoring their opponents by a combined score of 14-4, en route to the championship.
The girls won the title game over Indian Mills by a score of 3-0 on Oct. 28 in Wall Township. Nearly 60 teams competed in the tournament.
The team will now represent New Jersey in its age group at a regional tournament in Rhode Island in May.
The Fireballs are Shannon Ahern, Staci Bell, Niamh Bell, Jessica Cirone, Bella Conti, Maggie Cyliax, Gigi DiPierro, Kelly Giebner, Lauren Hoelke, Sarina Jones, Nikki Keith, Shannon Martina, Madison Shelly, Emma Trasatti, Gabrielle Fanfarillo and Hannah Derby.
