Performances at Gloucester Township's National Hispanic Month celebration 2012.

From students to educators to veterans, Gloucester Township has many residents of Hispanic heritage accomplishing great things. Their achievements were center stage Sept. 24 when Gloucester Township celebrated National Hispanic Heritage Month at the the council meeting.

Three performances—a guitar duet from Leo Lopez and Carlos Aquino, a dance by Colleen Sanchez and Alvin Parache and a song by Natalya Munoz—were interspersed throughout plaque presentations for Hispanic Gloucester Township residents.

The 2012 honorees are: 

Paola Alacqua, Timber Creek educator

Julia Caban, Highland High student

Michelle Impaco, Highland High student

Juliet Muldoon, Timber Creek student

Lexus Myers, Highland High student

Edward Perez, business owner and community advocate

Patricia Roa, Gloucester Township employee

Heather Torres, Timber Creek student

Josie Washington, Gloucester Township Planning Board and Human Rights Commission

Nathalie Zapata, Charles W. Lewis student
