We learned just last week that an off-track betting parlor may be coming to Blackwood Clementon Road.
Gloucester Township officials optimistically look to the OTB parlor as a potential catalyst for economic development for one of the township's main commercial thoroughfares.
With that in mind, this latest edition of “Visions for Vacancies” asks Gloucester Township Patch's readers to share their ideas for what should replace the former Slack's Hoagie Shack at 1571 Blackwood Clementon Road in Blackwood, across from Highland High School.
(The one-acre property actually has three commercial buildings on it, including an auto repair shop, with the former Slack's out front. The property's listed at $850,000.)
If you were in charge, what would you open at this property in place of the long-gone Slack's?
A cell-phone store?
Another deli?
Perhaps a fast-food chain?
Something to jive with the OTB parlor?

I think it would make a great Sportsmans store, with bows and guns and hunting supplies! We are surrounded by excelent NJ Fish & Wildlife Management Areas all around the township, so lets capitalize on it! I've hunted with my friend Sean many times in Deptford and Clementon and hate having to travel out of the area for good supplies... keep the $$$ in the TWP!
