Visions for Vacancies: The Former Charlie Brown's Steakhouse

What should be the next business that moves into the former Charlie Brown's Steakhouse in Blackwood?

The closing of Charlie Brown’s Steakhouse came thanks to the controversial bankruptcy of parent company, CB Holding Corp. Now shuttered for just over a year, the property is in a severe state of disrepair. Tall weeds spring from cracks in the concrete and once neatly manicured landscaping has now swallowed the building.

This latest edition of “Visions for Vacancies” asks the readers of Gloucester Township Patch to share their ideas for what should replace the former Charlie Brown’s Steakhouse at 1378 Little Gloucester Rd. in Blackwood.

If you were in charge, what would spring up at this property?

A sports bar?

A retail store?

A day care?

Perhaps another restaurant chain?

Please keep in mind all the stores that are already located in the area when sharing your answer. All answers can be left in the comments box below.

I would love to see the Charlie Brown's kept as a local bar in front..it really was a nice size and had a lovely atmosphere, unlike some of the sleezier bars in the area ... and perhaps a banquet hall in the rear where the dining room was. The kitchen is already there and with some wall removal it would be a great place for weddings and other occasions.

A sports bar - restaurant should still work. The closing was due to the parent company's finances as it seemed to have enough customers. There is even less competition after some local closings (Cherrywood, Denny's). An outside deck could be added in the rear where there are patches of trees. Bus routes between the college and Philly go right by that corner, so a stop could be put there.

I do not think a Cracker Barrel should go there. The parking lot is not big enough. There would be giant RVs driving though our already crowded township. Camden County College already generates enough traffice in the area I don't think we need that kind of establishment. A smaller reaustrurant would be nice. And no Cheesecake Factory either, who wants to wait 1.5 hours for dinner.
