Visions for Vacancies: Former Club Fiji

What would you like to see in the empty Club Fiji building in Blackwood?

The longtime vacant nightclub, Club Fiji, sits on an overgrown lot on the North Black Horse Pike in Blackwood. While the building is in need of some repair, it has potential.

This latest edition of “Visions for Vacancies” asks the readers of Gloucester Township Patch to share their ideas for what should replace the former Club Fiji at 836 N. Black Horse Pike in Blackwood.

What do you think?

A billiard hall?

A fast food restaurant?

A day care?

A bookstore?

Or tell us your amazing idea for the currently vacant lot.

Please keep in mind all the stores that are already located in the area when sharing your answer. All answers can be left in the comments box below.

Can we please NOT build anymore pharmacies, liquor stores, gas stations, or convenience stores of any kind- you mean to tell me that in this town we don't have any bright women or men that can come up with something that would be beneficial for the residents of Gloucester Twp and surrounding areas? Please let's put something in there that would enhance our community...

That'd be nice Joe, but it will never happen. Trees only produce oxygen not dollars. So....

I second what Michelle said. And would like to add fast food chains to that list! Sorry Chic-fil-a lovers.

Asking a few introspective questions here, currently what is the zoning? What does the immediate area need? Within a half mile is the Pharmacy (Walgreens), Liquor store (Richards, Skeeters), gas station/convenience store (Wawa), meeting area (Skeeters, Blenheim Fire hall), Garage/repairs (cant remember shops name), Tire store, storage (yes) Animal hospital (check). Fast food is missing but plenty around as Michelle said. Ok I'm rooting for the trees too! It will never happen soooo.

I think it should become a GT Police satellite office so they can keep a closer eye on the HOJO behind it!

I say demolish Club Figi, the building next ti it, and HoJo and build a walking park or another township pool. I know it will never happen but I think HoJo needs to go too.

Yes. That HoJo has really become a blight on that area.
