The South Jersey based rock band will open the MMRBQ at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden on Saturday.
Blink and you might miss Laurel Springs, a tiny Camden County borough of 1,900 people along the White Horse Pike. But, there’s a band with a big sound based in town, and on Saturday, they’ll be on the biggest stage of their young career. Kid Felix, a six-piece rock band made up of Camden County natives, will open this year’s MMRBQ at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden. The show is sponsored by Philadelphia radio station 93.3 WMMR-FM. Although Kid Felix is only celebrating its second anniversary as a band this month, they’ll share the stage Saturday with some rock veterans: hard-rock heavyweights Alice In Chains and Soundgarden, power-pop kings Cheap Trick, as well as Buckcherry and Device. Now in its 25th year, it's located on Camden County College's Blackwood Campus.
The program begins June 25 with Children's Theatre for students entering sixth through 12th grades; the behind-the-scenes Technical Theatre and Video Film Production, for those entering eighth through 12th grades; as well as Apprentice, fourth and fifth graders, according to a news release Kids Stuff, for children entering second and third grades, has two sessions beginning July 1 and July 22. There are also programs to extend the day. For Kids Stuff and Apprentice, there’s Storytelling through the Arts and Ready, Set Dance. For those 11 years and up, Mainstage offers the new Mainstage Dance Project. Songs from Highland High School's production of 'Aida' were performed recently at the Gloucester Township Council meeting.
Several performers from Highland Regional High School's production of the opera Aida showcased their talents at a recent township council meeting. They performed two pieces from an updated version of the classic opera. Some of the performers involved in the show were T.J. Young, Desiree Colangelo, Lindsay Deal, Eddie Olmo and Tom Berardi.
