Mainstage Center for the Arts is holding auditions for Steel Magnolias, February 26; 7 p.m. and February 28, 6:30 p.m. with callbacks to follow. The show will run April 26 - 28.

Looking for strong, passionate female actors to play the following roles:

Truvy – to play 35 ‐50s ‐ Owns the beauty shop. Vivacious. Dispenses advice with lots of hairspray.

Annelle ‐ to play early 20s‐ Newly hired assistant. Moves from unsure to wild to religious.

Clairee ‐ to play 55 to late 60’s ‐ Widow of former mayor. Grand dame. Elegant, sophisticated, a true beauty.

Shelby – to play early 20s ‐ Prettiest girl in town. Loves pink. Strong willed, passionate.

M'Lynn ‐ to play 40 to 50’s ‐ Shelby's mother. Always knows what’s best, strong, stubborn, the heart of the piece.

Ouiser (pronounced Weezer) ‐ to play 55 to late 60’s ‐ Wealthy curmudgeon. Tough, Eccentric character.

Please prepare a one to two minute monologue and be prepared to read sides from the script.

All ages and ethnicities encouraged to audition.

Please DO NOT type yourself out – we are not looking for actress to physically resemble the actresses from the movie.
