My Perspective

I watched this total circus show at Council online. I have been to both school board and Council meetings and in my opinion, this one was a true circus with the performers marching up to the mike, one by one, reading their scripts, totally unprepared and not understanding what they are reading, all led by the ringmaster, I hear was sitting in the back of the room, shouting at the council calling them cowards. Mr. Crone, in my opinion, you were the coward, you had the opportunity to speak face to face to council, but chose to act like a child and yell from the back of the chambers. As far as the Tuscan Tavern, it doesn't matter to me if they get a license or not, I'm neutral on that issue, it's my understanding when the owners took over approx. a year ago, they were fully aware they didn't have a liquor license to operate under but decided to open anyway. They have been obviously very successful operating without the liquor license.There are plenty of BYOB restaurants in Camden and Gloucester County, where they have other restaurants. My problem is that again, Crone, Polidoro and the candidates made the decision to use this as a platform to do their politicking at he expense of the owners of the Tuscan Tavern before and after their lawyer Mr. Riley presented his case in behalf of Tuscan Tavern. From what I heard they were unprepared, unorganized, uneducated about the issue and certainly took every opportunity to interject that they are candidates. Sometimes there are issues that businesses have before council, that they [pay big bucks to a Attorney to defend them and when that happens, people who are challenging elected seats for Mayor and Council should just butt out and leave it to the professional they hired. Here are some examples of the comments made by them to Council. Paul-[council candidate] I'm a little put off, it's tough for me to keep up. "How often is a liquor license renewed?" "It must be a handicap to do business there." Seriously Paul you should have let it be handled by the Lawyer.. Tonya Brown- [candidate for Mayor]- "Could you list a physical address for people like me?" What does that mean Tonya?" I don't know if I'm on the wrong page or wrong direction." Tonya asked who is the "Governing Body" in Twp. don't you think you should know that if you are running for Mayor? Then she totally insulted Detective Obermeyer, the investigating officer for the police dept. "This is his 1st application, did you take in consideration his lack of experience? "I'm not giving any credence to his qualifications, this is his first time and a big issue" "It's like a first year intern, you wouldn't let them do surgery." Then she continued to make accusations and tried the fear factor about another business coming to town. Tonya, are you really running for the Mayor of Gloucester Township? One of their supporters, Jennifer O'Donnell was at the mic complaining about a group home on Jarvis Rd, complaining they were drug attics and alcoholics and again the fear factor about her children are not safe, this is a group home for developmental disabled people, do your homework Jennifer, calling people who reside in group homes names is disgraceful, after all , weren't you the "Outraged" parent at school board complaining about a Director using a medical abbreviation for certain disabilities? Oh the Hypocrisy.BTW Jennifer, You can stand a couple of feet away from the mic, people in Deptford will still hear you. Remember when your yelling people can't hear your point, they only hear yelling. Last but not least, you have Polidoro in the main circus ring complaining about not enough time for residents to speak,2 hours is not enough to do your Politicking, isn't that what you mean Ray?
