Coat Drive: Source4Teachers Partners with One Warm Coat

Health experts report even a two degree drop in body temperature can result in reduced heart rate, loss of coordination and confusion. Children find it difficult to learn while enduring such conditions. Source4Teachers, a leading provider of educational staffing solutions for pre-K-12 school districts, is partnering with One Warm Coat for the second consecutive year to organize a coat drive for children and teenagers beginning December 1 through December 31.

As a coat drive organizer, Source4Teachers has designated its New Jersey and Pennsylvania offices as drop-off locations. The public is encouraged to visit any of these locations to drop off clean, gently used coats. In addition, Source4Teachers has enlisted the help of its partner school districts to serve as drop-off sites, making it easier and more convenient for people in the community to help those in need.

“We strive to help all children achieve their full academic potential – but that can’t happen if they are affected by the cold “, said Kevin Bush, president of Source4Teachers. “We all have a coat stashed away in the back of the closet that could be put to good use. We know our network of compassionate, dedicated employees and their families will make this coat drive an even bigger success than last year’s.”

For most, a warm coat solves the problem; but for nearly 15 percent of Americans living in poverty, a warm winter coat is considered a budget “extra.” One Warm Coat was founded in San Francisco in 1992. Since its inception, the non-profit organization has collected and distributed more than four million coats to individuals and families who need them most, free of charge.

“We are proud to work with and support each one of our coat drive organizers and donors. The time, resources and energy they give to help their neighbors proves that we can warm communities, one coat at a time,” said Jennifer Stockard, president and chief executive officer of One Warm Coat.
