Sunday, August 25th was a great day for soccer at the Stockton College Classic High School Soccer Tournament. There were a total of 20 southern NJ high school soccer teams represented at this tournament. Timber Creek played a total of 7, 30-minute games throughout the tournament. This was the first time Timber Creek Boys Soccer won this tournament as they beat Ocean City in a PK shoot out that went on until the sun went down! They made it to the semi-finals by winning a shoot out as well against Haddon Heights. They beat Cumberland in a 1-0 win and headed to the finals against Ocean City. With a tie score of 0-0 they headed into a PK shoot out again and goalkeeper, Justin Smith, made the final save that ended the shoot out to earn TC the championship. Great performances and several goals throughout the day came from Steve Karakitsios, Alex Kourahanis, Christian Morgan, Vinny Palmucci, & Zach Tierno. Joey Burton and Connor Atkinson fought hard up top. Gian & Chrizian Duclos, Matt Wolf, Billy Deluca and Chris Morales added great strength to the middle. Awesome defense all day came from Matt Hershey, Ben Fleagle, Nick DeFeo, and Kevin Pawlowski. A special thanks to TC Soccer players, Steve Ersing and Jay Jennings, who supported their teammates during the tournament. The entire team pulled together and worked hard all day and their final win against Ocean City was a victory worth celebrating. What a great way to start the 2013 season! Great job boys!
