Glen Oaks Neighborhood Raises $800 for Field of Dreams

The Gloucester Township neighbors came together during National Night Out earlier this month.

Neighbors in the Glen Oaks section of Gloucester Township combined a neighborhood crime-prevention outing with community fundraising earlier this month.

MaryJo and Frank Dintino and Debbie and Brad Morris organized a block party on Vicksburg Road near Lincoln Drive during a National Night Out celebration. The neighbors raised more than $800 for the township's Field of Dreams project to construct a artificial surface athletic field for disabled children and adults.

Nearly a dozen other neighborhoods around the township also came into the streets that night, including at the Lakeview Apartments where the remains of Carol Reiff were found in a wooded area in June and at Autumn Ridge Apartments where a 20-year-old resident was fatally shot last month.
