Major Project on Blackwood-Clementon Road Begins July 29

The $1.2 million roadway project will include the installation of handicap ramp improvements, storm sewer enhancements, traffic striping, raised pavement markers, and the replacement of selected concrete curbs, driveway aprons and sidewalks.

A large roadway improvement project on Blackwood-Clementon Road through Pine Hill, Clementon and Lindenwold is set to begin July 29.

The $1.2 million roadway project will include the installation of handicap ramp improvements, storm sewer enhancements, traffic striping, raised pavement markers, and the replacement of selected concrete curbs, driveway aprons and sidewalks.

“This is one of the most highly traveled roads in the county, and it is our responsibility to keep it in the best condition possible,” Freeholder Ian Leonard, liaison to the CCDPW, said. “We ask that motorists report any roadway concerns they encounter to us. We need the public to be engaged in the effort to make Camden County a better place to live and drive throughout our 1,200 lane miles of highway.”

Camden County Department of Public Works crews will mill and overlay the road from the area of Spring Garden Street to the area of Wauseon Avenue.

Work will take place daily between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., and is expected to be finished in 120 calendar days, depending on weather and other factors.

There will be congestion and minor traffic delays created by the project during peak travel times.

Camden County is aggressive about keeping the region moving by ensuring all of our highways and byways are maintained. The Freeholder Board asks residents to report road hazards they encounter to the Camden County Public Works Hotline (856) 566-2980.  The number is answered 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
