NWS Issues Hazardous Weather Outlook for Southern New Jersey

Snow, sleet and freezing rain are expected Saturday and Saturday night.

A winter storm is expected to hit South Jersey and the Jersey Shore his weekend - though the National Weather Service out of Mount Holly isn’t forecasting the type of snowfall seen last weekend in the southern portion of the state.

The National Weather Service issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook Friday morning for the central and southern portions of the state, including Middlesex, Mercer, Ocean, Atlantic, Cape May, Camden, Burlington, Gloucester and Salem Counties, as well as portions of Philadelphia and Delaware.

The storm is expected to bring snow, sleet and freezing rain Saturday and Saturday night, with low amounts of accumulation expected, mostly in Mercer and Middlesex counties.

The National Weather Service is projecting more snowfall in the northern region of the state.

The storm will be the third in less than a week, after up to nine inches were unexpectedly dumped on certain areas of southern New Jersey on Sunday. Tuesday brought with it the expectations for similar amounts of snow, but the precipitation fell far short of the forecast.
