Almost Indian Summer

GT Patch has picked several weekend events for you to enjoy. There's something for everyone, no matter what your age.

Gloucester Township hasn't seen its first official frost yet, but it has been chilly. Last weekend, I pulled out my bulky sweaters and this weekend I'm trying to find the shorts I packed away. With temperatures expected to reach the 70s all weekend long, delight in outdoor gardens, farms and sunshine.

Check out our picks for the best this weekend has to offer. We've even included some Monday events for those of you off on Columbus Day.

Fall Festival at Johnson's Corner Farm

  • Where/When: Johnson's Corner Farm, 133 Church Rd., Medford; Friday, Hayrides 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the hour, Sunday through Monday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • What's Going On: Now's the time to come out and pick your own apples and pumpkins. Enjoy a hayride on the farm, live music, moon bounce, corn maze, food tent and the gift shop. There's also the Discovery Barnyard and kids love to sit on the stationary tractor in the gift shop.

West Cape May Lima Bean Festival

  • Where/When: Wilbraham Park, Corner of Perry Street and Broadway. West Cape May; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Raindate is Oct. 9.)
  • What's Going On: Yes. You read that right. This is a festival dedicated to lima beans. Enjoy delicious food, entertainment, vendors and antiques. For those of you not in love with lima beans, there will be plenty of other things to eat. This annual festival celebrates Cape May farming.
  • Pricing: Free to attend, vendors and food, additional

Blackwood Farmers Market & Flea Market

  • Where/When: , 15 S. Black Horse Pike, Blackwood; Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • What's Going On: It's the last weekend for the Blackwood Farmers Market. Saturday will also be the last flea market that will be held at this location. Come out and score fresh produce, treasures for your home and plenty of homemade goods.
  • Pricing: Free to attend, produce & goods costs vary

Winslow Township Fire Prevention Open House

  • Where/When: Winslow Township High School, 10 Cooper Folly Rd., Atco; Saturday, 1 to 4 p.m.
  • What's Going On: Who knew fire saftey could be fun? The Winslow Township Fire Department will educate the community and offer up free refreshments and a fire safety hay ride. There will also be door prizes, demonstrations and activities for kids and grown-ups.
  • Pricing: Free

BritishMania, A Beatles Tribute

  • Where/When: Broadway Theater of Pitman, 43 S. Broadway, Pitman; Saturday, 8 p.m.
  • What's Going On: The group BritishMania is set to wow the audience at the Broadway Theatre of Pitman. They promise to perform Beatles hits "I'll be Back", "Please Mr. Postman", "Rain" and "Nowhere Man." Expect a great show with hair and wardrobe that will make you feel like you've enjoyed an authentic Beatles experience.
  • Pricing: $25 to $45, plus tax and applicable fees

Mum Madness and Pumpkin Parade Family Festival

  • Where/When: Camden Children's Garden, 3 Riverside Dr., Camden; Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • What's Going On: Mums aren't just short for chrysanthemums at the The Camden Children’s Garden. It is also the name of the garden's mascot, Mum the Bear. This weekend, participate in pumpkin crafts, a pumpkin story and pumpkin activities, all while taking in the garden's colorful arrangement of  chrysanthemums. For an additional fee, attendees can buy and paint a pumpkin to take home (while supplies last).
  • Pricing: $6 per person and free for children two and younger

South Jersey Pumpkin Show 

  • Where/When: Atlantic County 4-H Fairground, 3210 Rte. 50, Egg Harbor; Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • What's Going On: In case you missed Blackwood's Pumpkin Festival, or you just love pumpkins and want to attend another pumpkin themed event, don't miss the South Jersey Pumpkin Show. This two-day event is packed with family activities like the Little Miss Pumpkin Show, a Pumpkin Weigh Off, a stroller decorating contest, scarecrow contest, live music, vendors, crafts and more. A portion of proceeds from this festival benefit the Atlantic County 4-H Fair Association.
  • Pricing: Free to attend, vendor prices vary

NJ Garden State Wine Growers Association Wine Festival 

  • Where/When: Cape May-Lewes Ferry Terminal, 1200 Lincoln Blvd., Cape May; Saturday and Sunday, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. (Admission tent opens at 11:30 a.m.)
  • What's Going On: This almost Indian Summer weather has us contemplating a drive to the Shore this weekend. Finding out about this event has made the decision easy. Visit the grounds of the Cape May-Lewes Ferry Terminal and sample more than 300 wines from approximately 21 New Jersey wineries. Included in the cost of admission is your very own commemorative wine glass. Pack a blanket or chair and sit along the bay tapping your toes to the live music or take a stroll among the vendors.
  • Pricing: Sampling is $25 per person for those 21 or older (ID required)

Zumbathon

  • Where/When: Berlin Borough Recreation Center, 250 Franklin Ave, Berlin; Sunday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • What's Going On: Some of you may not know what Zumba is. It's a Latin-dance work-out craze that is becoming hugely popular. If this sounds like something you'd enjoy and you want to support a great cause, check out this event. This zumbathon will support the Mary Anne Mazanec Ovarian Cancer Foundation. . Covered in the cost of admission are 2 hours of zumba, refreshments, music, raffles, a t-shirt and more.
  • Pricing: Tickets are $15 each ($20 day of)

Savor the Flavor

  • Where/When: , 200 College Dr., The Connector Atrium, Blackwood; Monday, 6 to 8:30 p.m.
  • What's Going On: Even if you have to work Monday, this event takes place late enough for you to attend. Savor the flavor of a multitude of food presented by various Camden County restaurants like including Filomena's Cucina 1 and Houlihan's of Cherry Hill. There will be a cash bar at the is event. Sponsors are TD Bank, Comcast, The Trend Midweek and our very own Gloucester Township Patch.
  • Pricing: $15 in advance, $20 at the door
