Where to Go-Go

GT Patch has picked fun weekend events for those close to home and those bound for the Shore.

Don’t know where to “go-go” this weekend? Don’t worry. Whether you want to stay close to home or need to escape to the Shore this weekend, Gloucester Township Patch has picked events to please the entire family. From career talks for teens to the family-friendly Gloucester Township Day to listening to the Go-Gos in Atlantic City, there are lots of fun options from which to choose. Check out this week’s batch of great weekend events.

Career Series for Teens

  • Where/When: , 15 S. Black Horse Pike, Blackwood; today at 6:30 p.m.
  • What’s Going On: KYW 1060AM NewsRadio sports reporter Matt Leon and morning news editor Greg Orlandini will discuss careers in radio during this program geared towards teens. Adults are also welcome to attend. If you are interested in attending this event contact the library at 856-228-0022 or register online.

Holy Angel's Parish Carnival

  • Where/When: John Paul II Learning Center, 1210 Hessian Ave., West Deptford; tonight through Sunday, 6:30-11 p.m.
  • What’s Going On: This family-friendly carnival is more than just rides. Come out to hear live music each night and enjoy the games and food, too. Tonight there is a Family Night special, where $20 buys you a wristband allowing you unlimited rides!
  • Pricing: $1 for one ticket, $15 for 20, and $30 for 45 ($20 wristband for unlimited rides available tonight only)

Father of the Bride

  • Where/When: The Old West End School, Glover and Logan streets, West Deptford; Friday and Saturday, 8 p.m.
  • What’s Going On: This comedy follows the mishaps that take place in one loving dad's life after his daughter announces she is engaged up to her wedding day. Many may remember the 1991 remake of this film, where Steve Martin played the lead. Watch as the Sketch Club Players bring this heart-warming comedy to the stage.
  • Pricing: $17 general admission, $15 seniors

Gloucester Township Day

  • Where/When: , Chews Landing Road and Lincoln Drive; Saturday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
  • What’s Going On: Celebrate your township! Join the Council and mayor at Veterans Memorial Park for a fun-filled day of festivities. There will be vendors, kids activities, food and more at this annual event. At dusk, enjoy the fireworks show! This year, Sustainable Gloucester Township's Green Team will be on hand. They will collect plastic shopping bags and exchange them for a free reusable bag, so please stop by the Sustainable Gloucester Township Green Team booth. Per the township website, please bring your lightly used or new footwear as a donation to the Soles 4 Souls charity. Katarina Kneer, a spokeswoman for Soles 4 Souls and Miss Teen America 2011, will attend Gloucester Township Day to collect footwear donations. Meet Calliou

  • Where/When: The Market & Shops at Comcast Center, lower level 1701 JFK Blvd., Philadelphia; Saturday, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
  • What’s Going On: Most parents of toddlers will recognize the name Calliou. Surprise your little ones and take them to this meet and greet event, where they can see Calliou from the PBS Kids channel. In addition to this Calliou playdate, attendees can fill out a “What I Love About Being a Kid in Center City!” drawing contest entry form and receive kid-friendly specials from market merchants. This event will also have nonprofit Pajama Program present. Feel free to bring new pajamas  or new bedtime books to donate to the Great Sprout Tuck-In, which works hand-in-hand with this organization. Moorestown Day 

  • Where/When: West Main Street and North Church Street, Moorestown; Saturday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
  • What’s Going On: Stop by the 35th annual Moorestown Day this Saturday. Stroll along Main Street and enjoy sidewalk sales, entertainment, food, vendors and more. This event is sponsored by the Moorestown Business Association, and will even include performances from a local theater company.
  • Pricing: Free to attend

Shore Fun-

Flower Show in Ocean City

  • Where/When: Ocean City Music Pier, Moorlyn Terrace and Boardwalk, Ocean City; Friday, 2-9 p.m., Saturday, 10 a.m.-9 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
  • What’s Going On: Visit the Ocean City Music pier and appreciate the beauty of nature. This three-day event is open to the public.
  • Pricing: Free to attend

Johnsons Popcorn Father's Day Family Fun Fest in Ocean City

  • Where/When: 11th Street on the Boardwalk, Ocean City; Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • What’s Going On: While you are down the Shore, stop by this early Father's Day celebration. Magicians, face-painters, pony rides and bands will be there to entertain the whole family.
  • Pricing: Attraction costs vary

The Go-Gos in Atlantic City

  • Where/When: House of Blues Atlantic City, 801 Boardwalk,
    Atlantic City; Saturday, doors open at 8 p.m., concert starts at 9 p.m.
  • What’s Going On: Leave the kids at home and rock out to the Go-Gos Saturday night. Known best for their hit "We Got the Beat" and band member Belinda Carlise's solo hit "Heaven is a Place on Earth," this popular group made famous in the '80s will have you toe-tapping in no time.
  •  Pricing: $32.50 to $52.50, plus any applicable fees

Wanda Sykes in Atlantic City

  • Where/When: Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, 1 Borgata Way,
    Atlantic City; Saturday, 8 p.m. and 11 p.m.
  • What’s Going On: Hailed as one of the 25 most funny people in America by Entertainment Weekly, this stand-up comic comes to the Borgata for two shows. Come out and hear Wanda Sykes' funny take on current events. Her quick witted delivery will be sure to make you laugh.
  • Pricing: $55 to $65, plus any applicable fees
