A Little Bit of Gloucester Township Comes to Collingswood

A pair of South Jersey business partners have brought 'ethical retail' selections to downtown Collingswood.

Collingswood is known throughout South Jersey as a restaurant-first town, so when a new retail business opens in the borough, it's something to celebrate.

K Bella boutique, which opened on Haddon Avenue in mid-February, also retails ethically sourced gifts and apparel, an approach that fits right in with the sustainability-focused community.

The shop is the brainchild of Gloucester Township resident Karen DiBlasi and West Deptford's Katie Duffield—the K's in "K Bella."

The two partnered up to offer a selection of vintage jewelry, apparel, accessories, candles and gifts that strive to be both "unique and affordable," said DiBlasi.

"We carry a lot of fair-trade items from India," she said, "paper bead necklaces from east Africa, Wild Soap bars, Bridgewater candles."

The duo also operates stores in the Woodland Village in Cape May—Cottage of Dreams and Browse Around Cottage—and decided to open the shop in Collingswood so that they could have a less seasonal customer base.

"We've heard what a fabulous town [Collingswood] is, people walking all the time," DiBlasi said. "Everybody's nice."

Duffield said the pair also holds fundraising opportunities to benefit various charitable causes, and that "we like to help people while making a living."

K Bella Boutique is located at 684 Haddon Ave. in Collingswood.
