Township Woman Excited About Discount Market

Discount shopping market The Bins of Sicklerville debuts at Spacemart Saturday.

This Saturday, you'll find plenty of deals on thousands of items at the Spacemart self-storage facility on Berlin Cross Keys Road, in Winslow Township's Sicklerville section.

Think discounts on both new and used items.

Think giant yard sale—only this is one run by market professionals, not a guy looking to clear out space in his garage for his new Harley.

Think The Bins of Sicklerville!

Lisa Patete-Dottoli, a resident of Gloucester Township's Sickerville section, is one of about 20 vendors expected to participate in the brand-new Spacemart market, which will debut Saturday and Sunday, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days.

"This is not just used items. Some of it is brand new," Patete-Dottoli said. "There are beautiful items. It's not junk."

Beginning Sept. 21, Spacemart vendors will be selling their goods every week Friday through Sunday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The market will be a year-round venture, as some vendors rent heated units. Spacemart management has also agreed to open up its office to any shoppers looking to warm up.

The premise behind the market is simple: Vendors convert storage units into their very own stores to sell their goods, ranging from home decor to fishing gear and from furniture to jewelry.

Patete-Dottoli, who has been a Spacemart customer for almost a year now, is licensed in seven areas of natural healing, including aromatherapy. Her specialty products are essential oils, incense, bath salts, herbal blends and crystal jewelry, but she also sells lightly worn clothing, video games, vases and baskets.

The Sicklerville resident came to learn the ways of more than a half-dozen natural healing techniques through necessity.

In 2002, she was diagnosed with reflex sympathetic dystropy syndrome, or RSD, and told she was going to require a wheelchair. RSD is a nerve disorder characterized by chronic severe burning pain, pathological changes in bone and skin, excessive sweating, tissue swelling and extreme sensitivity to touch

Patete-Dittoli's turned what could have been tragedy into triumph.

"Never give up on your life," she said. "You never know where life will take you."

You'll find Patete-Dittoli selling her goods at storage bin F110. She makes her healing oils, herbal blends and jewelry in a smaller, indoor bin she rents at Spacemart.

So, if you're in the market for some tools, fishing equipment, bath salts, books, DVDs, clothes, or, really, just about anything, stop on by for The Bins of Sicklerville's grand-opening bash this weekend. There will be a DJ, face-painting and a barbecue vendor.
