Golden Cradle Adoption Services Welcomes New Executive Director

May 6, 2014 (Cherry Hill, NJ) – Tay L. Walker-Valery was recently named Executive Director of Golden Cradle Adoption Services. She is taking the place of Jared Rolsky who retired after 17 years of dedicated service to the agency.

In her position, Walker-Valery will be responsible for program and staff development, strategic planning, advocacy, public relations and community outreach. Under her leadership, Golden Cradle is looking to strengthen collaborative efforts with non-profit organizations, schools, colleges, civic groups, churches and faith-based organizations, as well as obtain grants to expand services for adopted children, birth families and adopting families.

Walker-Valery recently commented, “It is an honor and a blessing for me to serve as Golden Cradle’s new leader. The agency has been a pillar in the adoption community for more than 34 years. Golden Cradle’s dedicated team of adoption professionals is committed to improving the lives of adopted children, adoptive families and birth families. My team and I are looking forward to developing new strategic alliances, and to strengthening our existing community partnerships,” said Walker-Valery.

Walker-Valery brings over seventeen years of non-profit management and operations leadership experience to Golden Cradle. She has served as a corporate leader in a variety of public health and social service settings. Her background includes organizational management, program leadership, fundraising, development and public health administration.

Walker-Valery earned a B.S. in Public Health from Temple University, and a Masters in Public Health from Saint Joseph’s University, with a concentration in maternal and child health issues for both degrees. In addition, she is currently pursuing her Doctorate Degree in Public Health with a concentration in Health Advocacy & Leadership.

Walker-Valery is a member of the American Public Health Association, the National Society for Public Health Education and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Walker-Valery says, “Working with children and families is my passion. My vision for the agency is to continue to build on the legacy that Jared Rolsky passed to me. Under my leadership, Golden Cradle will continue to provide quality, affordable adoption services and support services for adopted children, adopting families and birth families. We are looking to the future with great excitement.”

Walker-Valery also said, “I would like to invite everyone in the community to join Golden Cradle for our 1st Annual Adoption Awareness Walk. The event will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2014 at Cooper River Park, 5300 N. Park Drive, Pennsauken, NJ.
