Blackwood Fire Co. to Bring Santa Around Town

A Blackwood fire truck will roll through District 4 with Santa Claus on Dec. 18.

Santa Claus is coming to town again—at least twice, in fact, before the big night, courtesy of both Gloucester Township Recreation Department and Blackwood Fire Co.

If you missed Santa at Blackwood Fire Co.'s 25th annual Christmas parade (click the link for a photo gallery) Saturday night, rest assured that jolly ol' St. Nick will be back.

Not only will Santa be at Gloucester Township Recreation Center for brunch this Saturday morning, he'll be touring Blackwood-Fire District No. 4 on Tuesday, Dec. 18.

Santa will be on the Blackwood fire truck, traveling through the Blackwood area, from roughly 5:30 to 9:15 p.m. Listen for the sirens announcing the big man's arrival in your area!

If it rains on Dec. 18, Santa will be riding the fire truck in Blackwood on Dec. 19.

Editor's Note: If your group is also bringing Santa Claus to town, let us know by sending an email with the date, time and location to sean.mccullen@patch.com.

I guess I never realized that Blackwood was the only important town in Gloucester Township. Unless it's a story of illegal something or other the remaining towns that form the Township are very rarely mentioned. I say this because Santa come to Erial every year and we are grateful to the Erial fire department for doing this.

Well, that's just not true, Peggi. We had extensive coverage of Erial Little League's run to the state title game last summer and have done many stories on programs at Erial Elementary School over our two years in existence. Also, if you look at our tops stories for today, you'll note there's an article about Timber Creek High School football team. If Erial Fire Department or Lambs Terrace Fire Co. want to share their Santa schedule with us, we'd be happy to publish that, too. Thanks for reading!

Erial Fire Department and Lambs Terrace Fire Co. will be bringing Santa around Districts 5 and 6 during the evening hours of Dec. 14-16. If we can get a more specific neighborhood-by-neighborhood schedule—we're working on it!—we'll post it on the site here and our Facebook page.

What about Blenheim Fire? We live right around the corner from the fire station. Or are we being covered by Blackwood on the 18th? Thanks!

I'm wondering if Santa is coming around again on another night to do streets that they couldn't get too. Also, the article says Tuesday the 18th but today is Tuesday the 17th so I'm guessing that was a mistake because my son heard the sirens tonight and was sooooo excited to see Santa, just to NOT see him. Does anyone know if they are coming out again? Love our Fire Company and all that they do. Look forward to seeing them every year. It's tradition. Merry Christmas everyone!!
