Erial EMT Honored by Local VFW

Dalton Smith was honored by the VFW at the beginning of Monday night's Council meeting.

VFW Post No. 5794-Erial Memorial Post Commander Phillip Williams presented Erial EMT Dalton Smith with its EMT of the Year award during the Township Council's meeting Monday night.

"Sometimes we pick up the phone in a case of emergency. We expect someone always to be there. We just know that the Erial ambulance squad has always been there when the calls come in," Williams said.

Smith is now in the running for the 2012 New Jersey EMT of the Year award.
