Five Things You Need to Know

Playoff action and state finals highlight this week's edition.

1. Six Timber Creek wrestlers will compete in this weekend's state finals in Atlantic City.

They are Ricky Carter (112 pounds), Brandon Keller (125), Dom Ruggierio (130), Kevin Birmingham (135), Bryce Shade (140) and Bryheim Muse (189).

Carter, Keller, Birmingham and Shade all won Region 8 titles at their weight classes last weekend.

Ruggierio and Muse finished in third place.

2. Timber Creek's girls' and Highland's boys' hoops teams both play South Jersey Group III quarterfinals games tonight against Kingsway Regional.

The Chargers' game against the Dragons is slated to begin at 4 p.m.

The Tartans' game against the Dragons is scheduled for 6 p.m.

3. The Gloucester Township Public Schools board tentatively approved a 2011-12 operating budget of $92,451,271 Monday night.

The board will vote to adopt the budget at its March 28 meeting at Charles W. Lewis Middle School.

Having recently received its state-aid figure for the coming school year, Black Horse Pike Regional School District board will likely introduce its budget at its March 10 meeting at Triton High School, in Runnemede.

Mayor David Mayer has said the township will introduce its budget this month, too.

4. Registration for the 's spring programs begins on March 14.

Programs range from pottery to Jazzercise and SAT prep to beginner tennis.

5. The Patch/Camden County Animal Shelter Adopt-a-Pet Program "Pet of the Week" column will return this Sunday after a one-week hiatus.
