Four Camden County Residents Indicted for Homicides

The following information was provided by the Camden County Prosecutor's Office. It does not indicate a conviction.

The following individuals were indicted on the following charges by a Camden County grand jury on Nov. 30. The information was made public Dec. 7.

Homicide

  • Lori Ann Laquitara, 46, of Voorhees, was indicted on manslaughter and endangering the welfare of a child in connection with the death of Stephen Torrey, an 11-month-old boy she was babysitting. Stephen was in Laquitara’s care at her home from 2 p.m. July 10, 2010, until police were called the next morning. A medical examiner determined the baby suffered a 3.5-inch fracture to the rear of his head.
  • Brandy Hicks, 28, of Camden, was indicted on a count of murder in connection with the shooting death of Earl Clary, 29, of Camden. Clary was shot multiple times on Sept. 27, 2010, in a vacant lot at Sheridan and Michael streets in Camden.
  • Brandon Isler, 25, of Camden, indicted on a count of murder in connection with the shooting death of Jeremiah Johnson, 17, of Sicklerville. Authorities allege Isler shot Johnson multiple times on Feb. 18, 2011, at the intersections of Mount Ephraim and Morton streets in Camden.
  • Benny Santiago, 30, of Camden, was indicted on a count of murder in connection with the shooting of Charles Tokley, 35, of Camden. Santiago is accused of shooting Toakley on May 23, 2004, in Centennial Village in Camden.

Vehicular homicide

  • Richard Acevedo, 31, of Harrisburg, PA, was indicted for two counts of vehicular homicide in connection with a crash that caused the death of Jonathan Cruz and Christian Valentin-Laguer on the Atlantic City Expressway on Aug. 7, 2010. Acevedo is accused of driving while intoxicated and flipping his SUV, killing the two passengers.
  • Robert Zaremba, 38, of Berlin, was indicted on a count of vehicular homicide in connection with a car crash that led to the death of Tricia Broomall, 41, of Deptford, in an Aug. 31, 2010, collision on Route 73 and Myers Avenue in Winslow. Authorities say Zaremba, driving a Ford Explorer, drove through a red light on Route 73 and slammed into Broomall’s minivan as it crossed the intersection. Tests on Zaremba’s blood revealed the presence of methamphetamines, amphetamines and Alprazolam, according to a probable cause statement issued by the state.

Non-fatal gun crimes

  • Keith Randells, 29, of Camden, was indicted on two counts of attempted murder, six counts of aggravated assault, a count of terroristic threats, a count of hindering apprehension or prosecution, a count of tampering with witnesses and informants, and weapons charges. The charges are in connection with a June 12, 2011, incident in authorities accuse Randells of shooting one man and attempting to strangle a woman. Randells was assaulting the woman when the male victim attempted to intervene and was shot, the county prosecutor said. Both victims survived the assaults.
  • Aimere Nelson, 29, of Camden, was indicted on four counts of aggravated assault and weapons charges in connection with a June 23, 2011, shooting incident that injured a man in Camden.
