This weekend is all about Easter. Or is it?

We can’t forget that Friday is Earth Day, right? Besides, we here at Patch realize that everyone doesn’t share the same level of enthusiasm for Easter weekend. Whether you are embracing this religious holiday, excited about eggs and the Easter Bunny, or looking for a weekend free from any mention of Easter, Patch has got you covered.

We’ve picked seven events for Easter enthusiasts and seven sometimes greener, bunny-free alternatives.

He is Alive!

  •  Where/When: Fountain of Life Center, 2035 Columbus Rd., Burlington; tonight 7:30 p.m., Friday 2:30 and 7:30 p.m., Saturday 2 and 7 p.m., Sunday 7 p.m. (Note: Doors open 45 minutes before show time)
  •  What’s Going On: The Fountain of Life Center has put on its annual Easter production for almost three decades. This popular event draws visitors from miles and miles away because of its beautiful music and Broadway-like costumes and set design. Include performers who are passionate about the message they are delivering and the end result is a retelling of Jesus’ life, death and resurrection like you’ve never seen.  
  • Pricing: $1 donation for general admission, $10 for pre-purchased preferred seating

Easter Egg Hayrides

  • Where/When: Duffield’s Farm, Greentree and Chapel Heights Rd., Washington Township; today through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • What’s Going On: Visitors to this event can enjoy a hayride over to the Easter Bunny and find eggs on the Bunny Egg-cres. 
  • Pricing: $4 for Adults, $8 for children 

Bow the Knee

  • Where/When: Bethel Christian Center, 1583 Blackwood Clementon Rd., Blackwood; Friday through Sunday, 7 p.m.
  •  What’s Going On: Talented members of the Bethel Christian Center will perform this Easter drama for all to enjoy. Join them as they reflect on Easter and express the importance of bowing your knee before God.
  • Pricing: Free, donations accepted

King of Glory

  • Where/When: Gloucester County Community Church, 359 Chapel Heights Rd., Washington Township; Saturday 1:30, 3:30 and 6:30 p.m., Sunday 8:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
  •  What’s Going On: Using music, lights, costumes and drama, the Gloucester County Community Church Creative Arts Department presents the story of Jesus, from birth to resurrection. Join this cast and crew of more than 200 people for their large-scale production.
  • Pricing: Free, donations accepted

Lindenwold Easter Egg Hunt 

  •  Where/When: Lindenwold Park, 1000 United States Ave., Lindenwold; Saturday noon
  •  What’s Going On: This event is ideal for children 1 to 10 years old. Bring your own basket or bag to load up with Easter eggs. The Easter Bunny will also hop on by for an appearance.
  • Pricing: Free  

Easter Parade

  • Where/When: South Street, Philadelphia (Passyunk Avenue to Headhouse Square); Sunday 1 p.m.
  • What’s Going On: Attend the 80th Easter Parade for the South Street Headhouse District. This Sunday, a bevy of parade entertainment will be provided, from Mummers to circus performers to music groups. There will also be a car show, doggie parade and giveaways.
  • Pricing: Free  

Easter Bunny Brunch Cruise

  • Where/When: The Philadelphia Belle, Pier 3 at Penn’s Landing, Philadelphia; Sunday-Board 12:30 p.m., Sail 1 to 3 p.m.
  • What’s Going On: Relax Easter Sunday with a boat, a bunny and brunch. This festive cruise of the Delaware River will feature a visit from the Easter Bunny and live music. Guests will also enjoy a large brunch buffet, chocolate fountain and many sweet treats. Call to make your reservation.
  • Pricing: Adults, $42.90; Children (ages 4 -12), $21.48; Children 3 and under, free; plus any applicable fees

Sports Card & Collectible Show

  • Where/When: The Voorhees Town Center, 2120 Voorhees Town Center, Voorhees; today through Saturday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • What’s Going On: Come out to the Sports Memorabilia Show! You'll find old and new baseball cards, McFarlane figures, sports collectibles and more.
  • Pricing: Free to attend 

Green Energy Course

  • Where/When: Camden County College, Blackwood; tonight 6:30 to 8 p.m.
  • What’s Going On: This green-energy course is an event bound to make you feel smarter. This week, Camden County College discusses the role of energy legislation in revitalizing the U.S. economy. Contact the school now to register for this final lecture in the school's green-energy series.
  • Pricing: Free, but must register in advance.

Bizarre Beasts Past and Present

  • Where/When: Academy of Natural Sciences, 1900 Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia; today and Friday 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • What’s Going On: Attend the last weekend for this unique exhibit. Take a look at the evolution of creatures from past to present. Discover what forces cause the changes that take place in living creatures.
  • Pricing: Free with museum admission

Improvisational Modern Dances in the Park

  • Where/When: Grounds for Sculpture, 18 Fairgrounds Rd., Hamilton; Saturday 2 p.m.
  • What’s Going On: MM2 Modern Dance presents an Earth Day improvisation performance at Grounds for Sculpture. Modern Dancers will dance to honor earth. Watch as the dancers get inspiration from nature and the sculpture around them to create dances on the spot.
  • Pricing: Free with park admission

Earth Day Festival

  • Where/When: Washington Lake Park Amphitheater, 626 Hurffville Cross Keys Rd., Sewell; Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • What’s Going On: This event marks the 21st Earth Day Celebration for Washington Township. The theme this year is "Reuse, Repurpose, Refashion." Bring the kids along for live entertainment, music, vendors, furry friends and more. Learn how to create new things out of items you may have wanted to discard.
  • Pricing: Free

Hercules @ Garden State Discovery Museum

  • Where/When: Garden Sate Discovery Museum, 2040 Springdale Rd. #100, Cherry Hill; today and Saturday noon and 3 p.m.
  • What’s Going On: The Discovery Theatre presents the story of Hercules, the mythological hero from ancient Greece. Enjoy this kid friendly show that incorporates singing and dancing as well as lots of laughter.
  • Pricing: Free with museum admission

  • Where/When: Palmyra Cove Nature Park, 1300 Route 73 North, Palmyra; Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • What’s Going On: Palmyra Cove Nature Park is hosting its third annual Sustainability Fair, rain or shine, on Saturday. This free event is fun for kids and adults. For the grown-ups, services and goods to promote a greener earth will be showcased. For the little ones, animal ambassadors will be on hand and a children's author will read. Local vendors will also be at this fun event, offering food and beverages.
