Get Out: Listen, Eat, Dance & More

Check out the music of Led Zeppelin, local theater, St. Paddy's Day-themed events and much more this weekend.

This weekend you can have lots of fun, right here in South Jersey. Although Philadelphia has a lot to offer, there is plenty to do without having to pay a toll or take the train. Enjoy music, theater, dinner, dancing and golf—all closer to home than you would think.

Here are Patch’s picks for lively ways to spend your free time and get an early start on celebrating St. Patrick’s Day.

Get the Led Out

  • Where/When: The Scottish Rite Auditorium, 315 White Horse Pike, Collingswood, Friday, 8 p.m.
  • What’s Going On: Get the Led Out is a musical group whose members all share a passion for the sounds of Led Zeppelin. If you have always wanted to hear Led Zeppelin’s recordings performed live, come out to the Scottish Rite Auditorium. Don’t expect to see impersonators—just talented, professional musicians bringing this music to life on stage.
  • Pricing: Tickets  are $39.10 or less, plus any applicable fees

Heaven Can Wait

  •  Where/When: The Broadway Theatre of Pitman, 43 S. Broadway, Pitman, Friday and Saturday, 8 p.m.; Sunday, 2 p.m.
  •  What’s Going On: Heaven Can Wait is the story of a professional football player named Joe Pendleton. Joe, on the verge of leading his team to the Super Bowl, was almost killed in an accident. An eager angel takes him to heaven before Joe was ready to die. Enjoy the laughs that take place as the angel assigns Joe a different body and he is faced with a new set of issues, including explaining who he is to those from his past.
  • Pricing: $25, plus any applicable fees 

Dinner Dance for Multiple Sclerosis

  • Where/When: Lucien’s Manor, 81 W. White Horse Pike, Berlin, Saturday, 7 p.m. to midnight
  • What’s Going On: This "Dinner Dance for Multiple Sclerosis" event is a benefit for the Delaware Valley Chapter of The National Multiple Sclerosis Society. This fun night will include games, auctions and raffles. Guests will enjoy an elegant buffet and an open wine-and-beer bar. You can also dance to music provided by the "Spin Doctor," all in the name of helping a great cause.
  • Pricing: $40

Third Annual Spaghetti Dinner

  • Where/When: Gloucester Township Senior Center, 1261 Chews Landing Rd., Gloucester Township, Saturday, 4 to 7:30 p.m.
  • What’s Going On: Eat a late lunch or an early dinner this Saturday at the township’s senior center. This charity event is sponsored by the First Presbyterian Church of Blackwood. Donations collected from the event will aid in the repair of the church’s 160-year-old building.
  • Pricing: Adults, $9; children 4 to 12 years old and seniors, $6; children 3 and under, free

St. Paddy's Day Fundraiser for Gloucester Twp. K-9 Unit

  • Where/When: Paris Caterers at The Palace, 109 N. Black Horse Pike, Blackwood, Saturday, 7 to 11 p.m.
  • What’s Going On: Paris Catering, EMS Entertainment and the NJ Police K9 Association are hosting a benefit party with a St. Patrick’s Day theme. Included in the price of admission are dinner, drinks and door prizes. There will also be a Chinese auction and Heather DeLuca from SoJo 104.9FM will be a guest emcee. Proceeds from this event will benefit Gloucester Township Police Department's K-9 unit.
  • Pricing: $35 in advance, $40 at the door 

Shamrock Scramble

  • Where/When: Valleybrook Country Club, 200 Golfview Dr., Blackwood, Sunday, 9:30 a.m., lunch to follow
  • What’s Going On: End your weekend with the Shamrock Scramble golf tournament at Valleybrook Country Club. Included in your entry fee in the tournament are access to a golf cart, lunch after playing and the possibility to win awards and prizes. The tournament will be a two-player mixed format and this event is open to the public. Pre-registration is required, so contact the Valleybrook Country Club for more information.
  • Pricing: $45
