Getting Around Township Road Construction Detours, Here's How

Two major projects are snarling traffic on a daily basis. Here's info on for how long and what to do about it.

If you're still trying to navigate the labyrinth of road closures in Gloucester Township, this article is for you.

Here's information on road closures from the Camden County Municipal Utilities Authority sewer line project:

A 36-inch sanitary sewer main is being installed on Chews Landing Road. It remains closed from Little Gloucester Road to Somerdale Road. This portion of road will be closed to all through traffic for the next three weeks until June 13.

Chews Landing Road will be reopened every Friday at 4:30 p.m. to through traffic for the weekends, then close on Mondays at 7:00 a.m. Use Old Black Horse Pike to access all streets south of Chews Landing Road between Little Gloucester Road to Somerdale Road.

Gravers Lane is partially open to northbound traffic only turning left at Chews Landing Road. All traffic in this area should follow the posted detour route to around this closure. It will be closed from Little Gloucester Road to Chews Landing Road It will be closed to all traffic until June 7.

Hider Lane will be reopened every Friday at 4:30 p.m. to through traffic for the weekends, then close on Mondays at 7:00 a.m. Only local traffic will be allowed to access Hider Lane during normal working hours. Drivers must identify with the police officer directing traffic to be allowed to drive into Hider Lane.   Residents of Florence, Maurer, Victor  and Ellis avenues must drive north on Little Gloucester Road and turn left at Chews Landing Road to access Ellis Avenue and turn to their respective streets.

Hider Lane will be reopened to all traffic on June 8. Motorist in this area should follow the posted detour route to proceed around this closure.
