Gov. Christie to Visit Haddonfield Next Week

The governor will hold a town meeting.

Gov. Chris Christie is making another South Jersey stop in his statewide tour.

The New Jersey governor will hold a town meeting on Tuesday, June 12, at 3 p.m. in the gymnasium of Haddonfield's  on Lincoln Avenue. Mayor Tish Colombi made the announcement at a borough commissioner's work session on Monday.

Christie has held meetings like this across the state since he was elected in 2009. The last time he was in Haddonfield was in 2009 when Mitt Romney, the former Massachusetts governor and presumptive GOP presidential candidate, endorsed him on the steps of the borough's .

Finding a venue big enough for the meeting in Haddonfield was a challenge. The middle school was chosen, and .

Haddonfield has one of the only majority Republican local governments in Camden County. Colombi and Commissioner Jeff Kasko are Republicans and Commissioner Ed Borden is the lone Democrat. Borough elections, however, are nonpartisan. Party affiliation is not listed on election ballots. Christie is a Republican.
