Grab & Go Kids Planner: Bring in the Spring with Fun Events in Jersey and Philly

Check out the special family activities at the Flower Shower, a performance of 'Sesame Street Live' and other fabulous events!

Get out and about this weekend with lots of fun activities in Gloucester Township and across the river in Philadelphia. The Flower Show offers some great options for families and Seussical the Musical, at Lindenwold High School, is an economical option for some fun, kid-friendly live theater.

FAMILY BEST BETS OF THE WEEK

Where/When: Lowes, 485 Cross Keys Rd., Sicklerville, Saturday, 10 to 11 a.m.
Why Go: Pop into Lowes for a "Build and Grow" clinic to build a mini-basketball game. Perfect for ages 6-10. Your kids will have a blast and you can peruse the garden supplies.

Seussical the Musical at Lindenwold High School
Where/When: Lindenwold High School, 801 Egg Harbor Rd., Lindenwold, Thursday, 7 p.m.; Friday, 7 p.m.; and Saturday, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Why Go: Wrap up your celebration of all things Dr. Seuss with a live performance of Seussical the Musical.
Pricing: $7 (adults); $5 (children and seniors)

Mommy’s Time Out

Where/When: Mommy’s Time Out, Sewell, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 9 a.m. to noon; 1 to 4 p.m.
Why Go: Need a midweek break from the kids? Give Mommy’s Time Out a whirl. MTO is more than just drop-off babysitting—it is three hours of supervised play. Weekly themes include Dr. Seuss, St. Patrick’s Day, spring and more.
Pricing: $150 for a five-week session or for a Time Out Card to be used for drop-in visits. Call 856-481-4889 for more info.


Philadelphia International Flower Show Family Nights
Where/When: Philadelphia International Flower Show, Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Why Go: Hit up the Philadelphia International Flower Show Friday or Saturday evening for special events for kids, including French singer Ruthanne Emilene Ankney, garden crafts, face painting and a photo station. The Family Lounge, which is a great place for a break, has crafts and toys. Pick up a Kid’s Passport to learn new things and find surprises throughout the Flower Show gardens.
Pricing: Ticket prices vary. If you are a family of four with kids under the age of 6, give the Family Fun Pak a try. The package is $70 and includes four Flower Show tickets plus a year long membership to the Philadelphia Horticultural Society.


Elmo’s Green Thumb
Where/When: The Liacouras Center, Temple University, Saturday-Monday
Why Go: Dancing ladybugs, grouchy beetles and Elmo make this Sesame Street Live production a whimsical how for your little ones.
Pricing: Ticket prices vary. On Monday, check out the 10:30 a.m. show for just $12.
